Africans Don’t Adjust to Australian Way of Life’ – Aussie Minister

Australian immigration Minister Kevin Andrews has for the first time explicitly said that the Government squeezed the African component of the refugee program because "some groups don't seem to be settling and adjusting into the Australian way of life".

Andrews has previously skirted this issue, including stating in August that recent cuts in the African intake reflected "an improvement in conditions in some countries" in the region. But questioned yesterday about last week's fatal bashing in Noble Park of Sudanese refugee Liep Gony, 18, and whether better settlement services were needed, he said:

"I have been concerned that some groups don't seem to be settling and adjusting into the Australian way of life as quickly as we would hope and therefore it makes sense to put the extra money in to provide extra resources, but also to slow down the rate of intake from countries such as Sudan."

Federation of Ethnic Communities Councils of Australia advocate, Voula Messimeri, said all migrants experienced problems in settling and more intensive support was needed, despite a recent $200 million increase over four years announced in this year's budget.

Andrews confirmed Australia's 13,000 refugee allocation — which has been stable since at least the mid-1980s — included 30 per cent reserved for those from Africa. "Last financial year it was 50 per cent of the refugee and humanitarian program and the two previous years it was 70 per cent," he said.

Senior Constable James Waterson, a multicultural liaison officer with Victoria Police, who works closely with Sudanese and other minorities, said the vast majority of Sudanese who settled in Australia were not used to cars, email and other luxuries, "you get them congregating in public areas just as they do back there, which is how they've grown up for the last 15 to 20 years".

'The New Batch' -- As the years have rolled on, the number of 'survivors' of the Holocaust have dwindled and the money spinner that has worked tirelessly for the past 60 years needs a re-vamp. So what's the deal we hear you say? Well as the numbers drop, they need a new 'gimmick,' and now it’s the children of Holocaust survivors who are taking over the family business of 'victim' by taking a Class Action against the German Government.

Israeli lawyer Gideon Fisher, himself a child of Holocaust survivors, has launched a class action against the German government to provide therapy for the children of Holocaust survivors who, he argues, are psychologically damaged by their parents' experiences in the camps.

There are more than a million people worldwide who are children of Holocaust survivors. Thousands of people have approached Fisher to take part in the class action. Many live in Israel but others live in various European countries, in North and South America, Australia and South Africa.

The lawsuit is not asking for financial compensation from the German government but is requesting that they pay therapists who can treat the damaged descendants of Holocaust survivors. "It is time to bring out the scream of the second generation who carry in their souls the scars and to acknowledge the fact that they too are Holocaust victims," says Fisher.

Specific problems identified in children include eating disorders, fear of dogs, persistent melancholy and self-imposed seclusion. One of the claimants was repeatedly chastised by her mother for looking Semitic and was told to keep on washing her hands and face in the hope of making her skin look lighter. Another is scared to get on a bus because it reminds her of the trains that her parents and other Jews were sent to concentration camps in.

Black Racism and “The Jena Six”

Because they generally consider it bad manners to draw attention to obvious examples of black racism, the media -- in concert with contemporary America’s self-anointed champions of “civil rights” and “civil liberties” -- have recently put on a spectacular exhibition in the art of depicting black racism not as what it is, but rather as the unfortunate by-product of an allegedly underlying white racism.

At issue is the case of the so-called “Jena Six” -- the half-dozen black Louisiana youths who brutally beat an apparently loudmouthed white youth named Justin Barker last December. In the wake of that incident, the American Civil Liberties Union complained -- as did the political Left at large -- that the local district attorney was unjustified in having initially charged the defendants with attempted murder in this case of “questionable circumstances.”

Those circumstances were as follows: Last December 4 at Louisiana’s Jena High School, football player Mychal Bell led a gang of eight to ten fellow black students in pummeling Barker into unconsciousness in what the Jena Times called “one of the most violent attacks in Jena High School’s history.” Witnesses would later report that Barker’s attackers had “stomped him badly,” “stepped on his face” while he was “knocked out cold on the ground,” and “slammed his head on the concrete beam.” The media focused heavily on the notion that three white Jena students had provoked the attack by having hung nooses -- evoking images of lynchings -- from a tree (on campus) in whose vicinity blacks allegedly were unwelcome.

Quite apart from the question of whether a dumb (non-violent) prank by a bunch of teenage idiots is grounds for a violent assault, the fact is that Barker was not even involved in the prank.

Though the charges against Barker’s assailants were later reduced, the ACLU has solemnly stated that “the Jena Six case raises serious questions about a possible double standard for whites and blacks in the criminal justice system -- and in our schools.” Dennis Parker, Director of the ACLU’s Racial Justice Project, laments: “Possible differences in treatment between students of different races, the apparent overcharging of students by law enforcement and questions about the possibility of discrimination generally in the school are emblematic of the ‘school-to-prison pipeline’ cases that we are seeing nationwide.”

Members of the ACLU are schooled enough to know that many studies over the years have examined racial disparities in the criminal justice system, and that in the final analysis, when we compare black and white defendants who are charged with equivalent offenses and who have similar criminal records, we find that they are treated quite similarly by the justice system. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, who led a massive protest in defense of the Jena Six a few days ago, might secretly understand this too, as might the NAACP, which expressed its solid “support” for the rally in honor of the black assailants. But unfortunately the hordes of protesters -- tens of thousands were bussed to Jena from all over the United States -- didn’t know any better.

Nor did they seem at all cognizant of the fact that there are mountains of evidence which entirely contradict their contention that black youngsters routinely get a raw deal from the juvenile justice system. To cite just one example: A mere five weeks before the Jena incident, a gang of perhaps 30 black teenagers brutally assaulted three white women -- 21-year-old Laura Schneider, 19-year-old Michelle Smith, and 19-year-old Loren Hyman -- in the Bixby Knolls section of Long Beach, California.

Hyman suffered 13 facial fractures that required extensive facial reconstruction surgery. Schneider suffered a concussion after one of the attackers yelled a racial slur at her, smashed a skateboard against her head, and continued beating her after she was already unconscious. In February 2007 the four main perpetrators, all of whom were aged 16 to 17 at the time of the attack, were each sentenced to serve a mere 60 days of house arrest -- which they were permitted to break in order to attend school and church -- and 250 hours of community service. The judge also ordered the lead attacker to attend an eight-week racial tolerance program at the Simon Wiesenthal Center.

Not much of a penalty for crimes that could easily have resulted in a death or two. And of course the ACLU, NAACP, Sharpton, and Jackson were nowhere to be seen or heard.

There is a larger issue at play, however, apart from whatever penalties the juvenile justice system metes out. That is the issue of black racism, a disturbingly widespread phenomenon in contemporary America. This phenomenon explains why tens of thousands of protesters willingly traveled long distances to stage a show of support for a pack of thugs who had indisputably perpetrated a brutally violent attack against a white person. It explains why they focused exclusively on defending the “rights” of those attackers, rather than on condemning the wrong they had done. And it explains why they chose to portray a group of raging predators as the innocent, misunderstood victims of modern America’s allegedly boundless bigotry.

Black racism also accounts for the fact that the vast majority of interracial violent crimes are of the black-on-white variety, and that statistically the “average” black is many times more likely to attack a white, than vice versa. While not all interracial crimes are motivated by racial animosities, many of them -- like a recently videotaped gang assault in Virginia -- certainly are.

But why should black racism be prevalent in America at this comparatively late stage in our nation’s evolution -- long after the rise of equal-opportunity mandates, affirmative action policies, civil rights advances, and the stigmatization of racism to the point where “racist” is by far the epithet most feared by whites, be they political figures, business leaders, clergy, academics, or social commentators?

It’s actually quite simple. Black racism remains a dynamic phenomenon because African Americans have been told, ad nauseum, by “civil rights leaders” and by leftist whites in influential organizations like the ACLU, to look outside of themselves for the roots of every ill that plagues their community; to reflexively blame white society for their problems rather than to take responsibility for their own lives; and to view themselves as the oppressed and powerless victims of a white “power structure,” a status they are led to believe renders them somehow incapable of being genuine racists themselves -- no matter how much they may detest the white people they perceive to be their tormenters. Moreover, they have been taught to angrily reject astute observations like those of Bill Cosby, who has publicly lamented how illegitimacy, parental neglect, lack of educational effort, and bad behavior have decimated black life.

Only the victim mentality fostered by the “civil rights” champions of our day could have prompted tens of thousands of people to think that rallying on behalf of the Jena Six was a worthwhile use of their time. Having listened for so long to the “civil rights” establishment’s incessant depictions of the United States as a land of racial inequity, many black Americans have become angry, embittered racists themselves. They are among the legions who, in the words of black columnist Michael Meyers, zealously “transform themselves into the apostles of their own delusions.”

Jews Ban Ron Paul From Debate

Citing that they "disagree with Ron Paul on issues of foreign policy", the Republican Jewish Coalition Candidates Forum has excluded Ron Paul from their debate in Washington, DC on October 16. This according to Jim Perry, President of "Jews for Ron Paul". Of course the greater majority of Jews are opposed to Ron Paul receiving any attention from the public thus the Jewish media has not reported on many of his successful showings in Straw polls across the nation.

And why does the RJC disagree with Ron Paul on issues of foreign policy? Ron Paul simply stands for American interests in the formation of foreign policy in the Middle East and elsewhere and speaks the truth regarding the root cause of terrorism, the U.S. support of Israel and the hatred among the Muslim people which that support has brought toward America. Ron Paul is vocal in his belief that fighting wars in the Middle East will not do anything to stop terrorism and that a new foreign policy in the Middle East, one that is not nearly as pro-Israel as it is today, will be the only way to defeat terrorism.

Ron Paul can be classified as a patriot. What can be said about the candidates that have been invited to participate? Certainly the Jewish group holding this debate do not see any change in America's pro-Israel policy should Sam Brownback, Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney, John McCain, Fred Thompson, or Mike Huckabee be elected president, as these candidates who were invited must not disagree with the RJC's pro-Zionist views regarding America's support of Israel or they would have been excluded, as Ron Paul was. White Woman Targeted by African-“Americans”

Young Whites fed up with the Jena 6 hype decided to video an unscripted satire during a drinking party. A freshman at the University of Louisiana at Monroe placed the video on her Facebook page.

She was then targeted by a Washington Post blogger, people told the freshman she was going to get shot and then a meeting was called at the university, which was attended mostly by “athletes” (aka Africans) and run by the African-“American” Vice-President of Student Affairs.

Although she placed it on Facebook, a private web system which groups students based on colleges and universities and none of the events were associated with the university, one fears the caucasiopaths at the university might find some way to go after her.

The university plans to conduct more “diversity” activities, but one suspects it won’t push a policy of its OK to agree to disagree.

Jena Six-related video puts spotlight on ULM

MONROE -- Tears pouring down her cheeks, Kristy Smith sobbed in broad daylight this afternoon.

The dangerous combination of video cameras and the World Wide Web has brought Smith’s world crashing down upon her.

What US Vets Get In Return For Fighting The War For Israel, Huge Medical Bills

Veterans of the war have had trouble keeping jobs, paying their bills and some may even lose their houses. Soldiers have little faith in the government to give them the quality medical care that their heroic service deserves, and who can blame them?

Jewish money-changers and raceless capitalists in the credit card and housing markets cast a cloud of despair over these veterans with bills that the little federal help they receive don't begin to help cover. Many of these veterans were very accomplished individuals before their service in the Zionist war in Iraq robbed them of any way to make a livelyhood for themselves due to their injuries. Because of faulty planning by the government, the more than 700,000 soldiers that are now predicted to eventually seek care will be subject to this poor treatment.

Veteran John Waltz blames his post-traumatic stress disorder on his rescue work at a plane crash aboard a carrier bound for an Iraqi tour. While disability claims were evaluated by the government, he ran up $12,000 worth of medical bills which is a burden on his family's $30,000 yearly income that was cut in half because of his inability to work. America's bravest who are injured in battle are forced to penny-pinch all because America's politicians refuse to stand up to the powerful Jewish individuals and groups that pushed for the war in Iraq. Zimbabwe Runs Out of Bread

Zimbabwe's bakeries have shut and supermarkets have warned there will be no bread for the foreseeable future as the government admitted that wheat production had collapsed following the seizure of white-owned farms.

The agricultural ministry announcement that the wheat harvest is only about a third of what is required, and that imports are held up by lack of hard currency, came as a deadline passed today for the last white farmers to leave their land or face prosecution for trespass.

The maize harvest is expected to be equally dire and price controls to contain hyperinflation have emptied the stores of most other foodstuffs. The World Food Programme says at least 3 million people - one in four of the population - will need food aid in the coming months. It describes hunger in some parts of the country, which used to be a food exporter, as "acutely serious".

Last week, the government said it plans to import 100,000 tonnes of wheat but acknowledged that a shipment of 35,000 tonnes was held up in Mozambique because of a shortage of hard currency to pay for it.

The agriculture minister, Rugare Gumbo, has blamed the food shortages on black farmers who have taken over formerly white-owned land.

"I am painfully aware of the widespread theft of stock, farm produce, irrigation equipment and the general vandalism of infrastructure by our new farmers," he said.

"I am disappointed that our new farmers have proved to be failures since the start of the land reform programme in 2000. In spite of all the support government has been pouring into the agricultural sector, productivity and under-utilisation of land remain issues of concern."

The ministry of agriculture has also blamed electricity shortages for the wheat shortfall, saying that power cuts have affected irrigation and halved crop yields per acre.

France's Senate has approved a controversial law allowing voluntary DNA tests for would-be immigrants seeking to join family in France.

Supporters of the move - part of a tough immigration bill passed by the lower house - say it will speed up the process for genuine applicants. They argue that 12 other European countries have similar rules.

Critics have attacked the law as racist and question the use of genetics as a basis for citizenship. The legislation asks immigrant family members older than 16 to take a test in their country of origin, demonstrating a good knowledge of French language and values.

Applicants also have to prove that their family in France could support them and earn at least the minimum wage. Immigration Minister Brice Hortefeux made some last-minute changes to the bill before the Senate vote. The tests will now be paid for by the French government, to prevent any possible discrimination against those who cannot afford the tests. In addition, they will now only examine maternal DNA, to prevent paternity disputes arising from the tests.

Stone Age Tribe Discovered in Amazon

A previously unknown indigenous group living in isolation has been found deep in Peru's Amazon jungle, a team of ecologists has said. The ecologists spotted the 21 Indians near the Brazilian border as they flew overhead looking for illegal loggers.

Contact with outsiders can be fatal for isolated tribes people who have no immunity to many diseases. Some groups have fled deep into the jungle to avoid contact with loggers and oil and gas prospectors.

The group was photographed and filmed from the air on the banks of the Las Piedras River in Peru's south-eastern Amazon region. A government official who was on the flight said there were three palm huts on the river bank.

"We've found five other sites with this kind of shelter along the same river," Ricardo Hon told Associated Press news agency. "This group is nomadic."

He said the government had no plans to try to find the tribe again. The steady advance of logging has forced the isolated groups, among them the Mashco-Piro and Yora tribes, deeper into Peru's jungle frontier with Brazil and Bolivia.

Indigenous leaders say tribes have suffered many deaths from diseases contracted from outsiders.

Le Pen Helps Launch Bulgarian Nationalist Campaign

David Irving Backtracks on Holocaust, Accepts ‘Mass Extermination’ Myth

According to an article in the extremist leftist Guardian newspaper in Britain, historian David Irving has backtracked on his earlier views about the Holocaust myth and now accepts that the Nazis engaged in mass extermination of Jews in certain camps.

Irving says that his views on the Holocaust have crystallized rather than changed. He says that he believes the Jews were responsible for what happened to them during the Second World War and that the "Jewish problem" was responsible for nearly all the wars of the past 100 years: "The Jews are the architects of their own misfortune, but that is the short version A-Z. Between A-Z there are then 24 other characters in intervening steps."

He says that a document, which he is 80% sure is genuine, suggests that 2.4 million Jews were killed in Poland, but goes on to claim that the gas chamber at Auschwitz was fake. "It was not the centre of the killing operations - it has only become a focus because it is the site that is best preserved. Much of what is shown the tourists there is faked postwar - watchtowers, even the famous gas chamber."

He added: "In my opinion now the real killing operations took place at the Reinhardt camps west of the Bug river. In the three camps here [Sobibor, Belzec, and Treblinka] Heinrich Himmler's men (mostly Ukrainian mercenaries) killed possibly as many as 2.4 million in the two years up to October 1943. There is now nothing to be seen of the Reinhardt camps, neither stick nor stone, so few tourists go there. I have visited all four sites earlier this year."

Pressed as to whether this change undermined his previous stance, Irving replied: "It is a crystallization of my view." Asked if he now accepts there had been a Holocaust against the Jewish people he said he was "not going to use their trade name".

He added: "I do accept that the Nazis quite definitely, that Heinrich Himmler, organized and directed a program, a clandestine program, for the liquidation of European Jews ... and that in 1942-43 alone over 2.5 million Jews were killed in those three camps." He added that Hitler was "completely in the dark" about the program.

Pay Up Whitey, You Have Jews to Protect

Jewish institutions will receive the majority of U.S. federal funds -- your tax money -- designated this year to help secure non-profit organizations. Of the 308 grants awarded through the Urban Areas Security Initiative Non-Profit Security Grant Program, 251 are being allocated to Jewish groups, totaling $19.6 million.

The $24 million in total grants announced by the Department of Homeland Security last week vary in amounts, with $100,000 the maximum. The funds are used to provide everything from roadblocks to security cameras to blast-proof doors and windows at locations that could be terrorist targets.

The grants were announced a few days after representatives of the Department of Homeland Security’s Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives toured the Jewish community's national security alert organization in Manhattan.

Center director John Kim Cook said: "Our objective is to get right in the middle of [Department of Homeland Security] policy to really work with the programs of DHS to make sure there’s not discrimination, and secondly to provide outreach to faith-based community organizations.”

Cook’s deputy, Greg DiNapoli, joined him Sept. 25 in touring the Secure Community Network facility. Representatives from the DHS bomb prevention squad and members of the New York Police Department were on hand as well to meet with the SCN advisory board, which is comprised of representatives from the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, the Anti-Defamation League, United Jewish Communities, the New York Board of Rabbis and the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle received the maximum grant of $100,000 for this year, but had applied with the purpose of helping other groups in Seattle, including the Seattle Hebrew Academy and the Seattle Community School, to install security cameras and doors that can withstand heavy impact.

Many of the grants were awarded to organizations in the New York area. Another large concentration was in Maryland, where $900,000 will go to 19 Jewish organizations, including individual congregations and institutions such as the Jewish Museum of Maryland and the Maimonides Academy of Baltimore.

If you are still dumb enough to get your news from the mainstream corporatist Jewish-as-ritual- murder-media, then you are really asking to have your brain pickled and what’s left of your intellect mugged, aren’t you? Never in my life have I seen a more one-sided presentation of a foreign leader’s visit to the United States. Then, as usual, on all the 24-7 news channels, CNN (Cabbala News Network) and FNC (Fox Neo-Con Channel) did their dutiful worst to portray this man, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as a Hitler reincarnation, come back to avenge the Jews who have now bled Germany dry and destroyed her equilibrium and pride as a nation.

First, the Iranian President was treated like a sub-human by the head of Columbia University, Lee Bollinger, before he even got to approach the podium. Bollinger then ambled onto CNN dressed like a cheap lawyer running a practice from the back of a store. He was a mess and in need of a good haircut and for someone to teach him the basics in tying a half Windsor knot in a necktie. The fact that he went on television like this was a disgrace to his title. I don’t generally comment on how a person looks, but what a slob this Jew-worshipping aide to world Zionism is. I don’t know if he had been throwing back the high-balls or what before he stumbled in front of a camera, but perhaps somebody should have cleaned him up a little bit first. Columbia is a disgrace in so many ways, and Bollinger only further lowers the ante.

I watched with rapt interest as President Ahmadinejad spoke at the United Nations, and other than the occasional naïve platitude or utopian sentiment, I thought his speech was excellent. What bothers our Jewish arbiters, usurpers and anti-loyalists so much is not his supposed “anti-American rhetoric.” In fact, he had compliments for the American people and saved his critiques for our disgraced President and his failed policies in the Middle East. Thankfully, most of our citizens probably would second these sentiments if they came from any other source.

Why do the Jews at the Cabbala News Network and the Fox Neo-Con Channel need to dehumanize this man so much, even though he certainly came off better than “I’m a Jew-wannabe” Lee Bollinger, a man hooked on the Jew multi-culti, hate whitey, love your local Jewry reel-to-reel? The reason Iran’s President must be turned into a non-person in the same way Jews have turned Henry Ford, Charles Lindbergh, Ezra Pound and many other great heroes into media “nothings” is simple. They name the Jew, they name the “Controversy of Zion” as Douglas Reed calls it, and they refuse to go along with Jewish power. And not to confuse the issue, it is most Jews who are part of the problem, and the ones who oppose the ancient anti-Gentile, anti-humanity, anti-progress stratagems of their conspiring brethren are few, their numbers negligible, their impact nil. Oy freaking vey! It’s 1933 all over again!” Irving’s little boy, Willy Kristol will cry and Norman Podhoretz, a man who has no love for the country he lives in, guarantees us all “Bush will attack Iran before he leaves office!” He would know, wouldn’t he?

Yes, Mr. Ahmadinejad is right, and is the only world leader who seems to have nothing to lose in calling the Zionist Jewish enemy onto the carpet. “The people of America and Europe will be free of the pressures exerted by the Zionists.” This is pressure which strangles, cutting off the windpipe, even sometimes ripping out the trachea if need be. 1871, February 21:
Congress Passes an Act to Provide a Government for the District of Columbia, also known as the Act of 1871*

With no constitutional authority to do so, Congress creates a separate form of government for the District of Columbia, a ten mile square parcel of land (see, Acts of the Forty-first Congress," Section 34, Session III, chapters 61 and 62).

The act -- passed when the country was weakened and financially depleted in the aftermath of the Civil War -- was a strategic move by foreign interests (international bankers) who were intent upon gaining a stranglehold on the coffers and neck of America.
Congress cut a deal with the international bankers (specifically Rothschilds of London) to incur a DEBT to said bankers. Because the bankers were not about to lend money to a floundering nation without serious stipulations, they devised a way to get their foot in the door of the United States.

The Act of 1871 formed a corporation called THE UNITED STATES. The corporation, OWNED by foreign interests, moved in and shoved the original Constitution into a dustbin. THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is the constitution of the incorporated UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

It operates in an economic capacity and has been used to fool the People into thinking it governs the Republic. It does not!

Capitalization is NOT insignificant when one is referring to a legal document. This seemingly "minor" alteration has had a major impact on every subsequent generation of Americans.

What Congress did by passing the Act of 1871 was create an entirely new document, a constitution for the government of the District of Columbia, an INCORPORATED government. This newly altered Constitution was not intended to benefit the Republic. It benefits only the corporation of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and operates entirely outside the original (organic) Constitution.

Instead of having absolute and unalienable rights guaranteed under the organic Constitution, we the people now have "relative" rights or privileges. One example is the Sovereign's right to travel, which has now been transformed (under corporate government policy) into a "privilege" that requires citizens to be licensed.

By passing the Act of 1871, Congress committed TREASON against the People who were Sovereign under the grants and decrees of the Declaration of Independence and the organic Constitution.

In preparation for stealing America, the puppets of Britain's banking cabal had already created a second government, a Shadow Government designed to manage what the common herd believed was a democracy, but what really was an incorporated UNITED STATES. To fully understand how our rights of sovereignty were ended, you must know the full meaning of sovereign:

"Chief or highest, supreme power, superior in position to all others; independent of and unlimited by others; possessing or entitled to; original and independent authority or jurisdiction."

In short, our government, which was created by and for us as sovereigns -- free citizens deemed to have the highest authority in the land -- was stolen from us, along with our rights. Keep in mind that, according to the original Constitution, only We the People are sovereign. Government is not
sovereign. The Declaration of Independence says, "government is subject to the consent of the governed." That's us -- the sovereigns. When did you last feet like a sovereign? As Lisa Guliani explained:
"It doesn't take a rocket scientist or a constitutional historian to figure out that the U.S. Government has NOT been subject to the consent of the governed since long before you or I were born. Rather, the governed are subject to the whim and greed of the corporation, which has stretched its tentacles beyond the ten-mile-square parcel of land known as the District of Columbia. In fact, it has invaded every state of the Republic. Mind you, the corporation has NO jurisdiction beyond the District of Columbia. You just think it does.

"You see, you are 'presumed' to know the law, which is very weird since We the People are taught NOTHING about the law in school. We memorize obscure facts and phrases here and there, like the Preamble, which says, 'We the People. establish this Constitution for the United States of America.' But our teachers only gloss over the Bill of Rights. Our schools (controlled by the corporate government) don't delve into the Constitution at depth. "This fact has impacted all Americans in concrete ways. For instance, although Private International Law is technically only applicable within the District of Columbia, and NOT in the other states of the Union, the arms of the Corporation of the UNITED STATES are called 'departments' --i.e., the Justice Department, the Treasury Department. And those departments affect everyone, no matter where (in what state) they live. Guess what? Each department belongs to the corporation -- to the UNITED STATES.

"Refer to any UNITED STATES CODE (USC). Note the capitalization; this is evidence of a corporation, not a Republic. For example, In Title 28 3002 (15) (A) (B) (C), it is unequivocally stated that the UNITED STATES is a corporation. Translation: the corporation is NOT a separate and distinct entity; it is not disconnected from the government; it IS the government -- your government. This is extremely important! I refer to it as the 'corporate EMPIRE of the UNITED STATES,' which operates under Roman Civil Law outside the original Constitution. How do you like being ruled by a
corporation? You say you'll ask your Congressperson about this? HA!!

"Congress is fully aware of this deception. So it's time that you, too, become aware of the deception. What this great deception means is that the members of Congress do NOT work for us, for you and me. They work for the Corporation, for the UNITED STATES. No wonder we can't get them to do anything on our behalf, or meet or demands, or answer our questions.

"Technically, legally, or any other way you want to look at the matter, the corporate government of the UNITED STATES has no jurisdiction or authority in ANY State of the Union (the Republic) beyond the District of Columbia. Let that tidbit sink in, then ask yourself, could this deception have occurred without full knowledge and complicity of the Congress? Do you think it happened by accident? If you do, you're deceiving yourself.

"There are no accidents, no coincidences. Face the facts and confront the truth. Remember, you are presumed to know the law. THEY know you don't know the law or, for that matter, your history. Why? Because no concerted effort was ever made to teach or otherwise inform you. As a Sovereign, you are entitled to full disclosure of all facts. As a slave, you are entitled to nothing other than what the corporation decides to 'give' you.

"Remember also that 'Ignorance of the law is no excuse.' It's your responsibility and obligation to learn the law and know how it applies to you. No wonder the corporation counted on the fact that most people are too indifferent, unconcerned, distracted, or lazy to learn what they need to know to survive within the system. 1. Scenario: Jack goes quail hunting before school, pulls into school parking lot with shotgun in gun rack.

1957 - Vice principal comes over to look at Jack's shotgun. He goes to his car and gets his shotgun to show Jack.

2007 - School goes into lock down, and FBI is called. Jack is hauled off to jail and never sees his truck or gun again. Counselors called in for traumatized students and teachers.

2. Scenario: Johnny and Mark get into a fist-fight after school.

1957 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up best friends.

2007 - Police called. SWAT team arrives. Johnny and Mark are arrested and charged with assault. Both are expelled even though Johnny started it.

3. Scenario: Jeffrey won't be still in class, disrupts other students.

1957 - Jeffrey sent to office and given a good paddling by the principal. He returns to class, sits still, and does not disrupt class again.

2007 - Jeffrey is diagnosed with ADD and given huge doses of Ritalin. Becomes a zombie. School gets extra money from state because Jeffrey has a learning disability.

4. Scenario: Billy breaks a window in his neighbor's car and his Dad gives him a whipping with his belt.

1957 - Billy is more careful next time, grows up, goes to college, and becomes a successful businessman.

2007 - Billy's dad is arrested for child abuse. Billy is placed in foster care and joins a gang. State psychologist tells Billy's sister that she remembers being abused herself, and their dad goes to prison. Billy's mom has affair with psychologist.

5. Scenario: Mark gets a headache and takes some aspirin to school.

1957 - Mark shares aspirin with principal out on the smoking dock.

2007 - Police called. Mark is expelled from school for drug violations. Car is searched for drugs and weapons.

6. Scenario: Pedro fails high school English.

1957 - Pedro goes to summer school, passes English, goes to college.

2007 - Pedro's cause is taken up by state. Newspaper articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation is racist. ACLU files class action lawsuit against state school system and Pedro's English teacher. English banned from core curriculum. Pedro is given a diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he cannot speak English.

7. Scenario: Johnny takes apart leftover firecrackers from 4th of July, puts them in a model airplane paint bottle, blows up a red ant bed.

1957 - Ants die.

2007 - Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Homeland Security, and FBI called. Johnny is charged with domestic terrorism. The FBI investigates parents; siblings are removed from home; computers confiscated. Johnny's dad goes on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again.

8. Scenario: Johnny falls while running during recess and scrapes his knee. He is found crying by his teacher, Heather. Heather hugs him to comfort him.

1957 - In a short time, Johnny feels better and goes on playing.

2007 - Heather is accused of being a sexual predator and loses her job. She faces three years in state prison. Johnny undergoes five years of therapy.

Many websites are already beginning to question if Barack Hussein Obama is indeed the supposedly coming “false Messiah”, id est, The Antichrist. Indeed, according to Overture.com (the parent of the Yahoo search engine) Barack Obama is the 2nd most popular search incorporating the keyword “antichrist”. In fact, if you perform a Yahoo search for “antichrist”, the alternative suggestions are “Also try: barack obama antichrist, tony blair antichrist, maitreya antichrist” with Obama's name being the first alternative. Google claims well over 100,000 web pages connecting Barack Obama and Antichrist.

With all of these coincidences, it does make one wonder, is this man really a secret Muslim Manchurian candidate, and if so, is he dedicated to the Jihad declaring Death to all Whites? Recently, Australian Prime Minister John Howard expressed concern when he said, “If I were running al Qaeda in Iraq, I would put a circle around March 2008, and pray, as many times as possible, for a victory not only for Obama, but also for the Democrats” in response to Obama's ill-conceived binding legislation introduced in the Senate, seeking withdrawal of all U.S. forces from Iraq by March 31, 2008.

Obama himself expressed that the first Black Presidential win, would transform the nation, suggesting that an impulsive Black President could detrimentally impart a measure of political superiority upon Blacks — when he spoke before a Black crowd gathered at the National Urban League convention in St. Louis, saying “The day I'm inaugurated, the country looks at itself differently. Don't underestimate that power. Don't underestimate the transformation.” This would-be-first Black President also said, “We have more work to do when more young black men languish in prison than attend colleges and universities across America” seemingly without any real understanding as to the very cause, nor comprehending the requirements for mitigating the consequences of this fact — the basis of which has been determined as a natural genetic predisposition toward lower intelligence in Blacks. In light of all this, one must now consider the very real possibility, that even further leniency toward Blacks would thoughtlessly be granted by newly appointed judges; meaning even less imprisonment for predominantly violent Black criminals, should Obama achieve his goal, and actually win the White House.

Many people assume the name “Barack Hussein Obama” to be that of purely African origin, and indeed the name “Obama” is just that — however his first name came directly from the Holy Qur'an, where the word “Barack” means “blessed”. It is without much doubt that everyone on earth now realizes that “Hussein” is a Muslim name, one which originated from Hussein bin Ali, who was the Sharif of Mecca, Emir of Mecca, King of Hejaz, and Caliph of all Muslims. So one needs to ask themself, will Barack Hussein Obama be yet another Black Muslim, this time sworn into our nation's highest office, using the Holy Qur'an? Does he seem to fit the middle-eastern-looking profile which has been suggested by many theologians, as being that of The Antichrist? Why has he downplayed his attendance at a “predominantly Muslim school” (Saudi-funded Madrassa) in Jakarta Indonesia?

The other night before going to bed, I saw on CNN, radical Black Muslims in Europe standing in front of a Catholic church, calling for the death of the Pope. They were dressed very similar to the Muslims you see killing Americans in Iraq (faces covered with cloth; with only their eyes showing). Their message was succinct, “The Prophet Mohammed has come to slaughter all of you. We are Muslims, we drink the blood of the enemy, and we can face them anywhere. This is Islam. This is jihad.” A quote of the message shouted by bullhorn from masked Black men in front of a Catholic church. Keep in mind, if a White European was to shout even the most benign comments against Muslims or the Prophet Mohammed in front of a Mosque, he would quickly be arrested and charged with “inciting racial hatred”, a charge seemingly applicable only to native European Whites. So why the double standard?

One needs to ask, why would White Europeans EVEN LET such vile non-White Muslims into their country, if all they want to do is commit crimes against Whites and commit acts of racial violence? Have White people the world over, collectively lost their minds? What was life like before “multiculturalism” and is it really so much better now?

Minority Race is apparently so important in American politics these days, that it has ultimately propelled this Black Chicago politician, a freshman senator, less than two years removed from the corruption plagued Illinois state senate, into the limelight of the upcoming 2008 U.S. Presidential election.

Yet we still aren't supposed to engage in any real, genuine, or honest public debates regarding the realities of race.

I will freely admit that I am wholly unimpressed with, and do not endorse any Democratic presidential candidates. So let me note that Senator Barack Obama (Democrat, Illinois) strikes me as essentially a no-more-or-less typical Democratic candidate for President, similar to any of the other potentials, past or present, including my very own irrelevant governor, Tom Vilesack from Iowa. Vilesack has since withdrawn from the race due to a lack of support, although some might point to the many scandals and economic failures in Iowa during his tenure as a cause; such as the CIETC Scandal (Central Iowa Employment and Training Consortium) which coincidentally happened to unfold while Vilesack was campaigning in New Hampshire. Scandals of other candidates notwithstanding, I do believe that I might be able to play an educational role here, by actually mentioning some of the quite unmentionable reasons behind “Obama-mania”.

Obama is often being compared by the media to Tiger Woods, however he bears a striking difference from Woods in two rather significant ways. First, his list of accomplishments within his chosen profession is vastly smaller, and second, Woods rejected Nike's assertion that he should identify himself as Black (in order to maximize his marketability in North America). Woods rejected this notion because he did not want to offend and alienate his mother and all of his other non-Negro ancestors.

In contrast, like Oscar winning Halle Berry, Obama identifies only as Black, tho that requires a somewhat symbolic disowning of his White mother and maternal grandparents — despite the fact that they did far more for him than his drunken abusive polygamous African father (who, like most Black fathers, abandoned him when he was age two, later dying in a one-car drunk driving accident in Kenya when Obama was age 21). In a New York Magazine article, Obama comments, “I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of twelve or thirteen, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.” This seems to me to be rather self-sacrificial, but oddly enough, this statement apparently hasn't hurt his popularity amongst Whites one bit! Interestingly, in what appears to be a rather coincidental theological parallel, throughout all of his life, Jesus would often ridicule, scold, and even disowned his mother at the age of twelve (Luke 2:49, John 2:4). Although this may merely be yet another coincidence, but isn't The Antichrist prophesied to have many parallels in common with Jesus? Also, what audience reactions have you observed when Obama speaks, and how is this entranced captivation similar to what was foretold by end-times prophecy?

Regardless of all this circumstantial evidence, the brutal truth remains that Obama is an Uncle Tom. He is a remarkably exotic variety of “faux American Negro”, and is essentially what is termed “an Oreo”. He has absolutely no ancestors who were ever slaves in the U.S., moreover, his upbringing by his White mother and Muslim stepfather in Indonesia — and at age 10+ by his White grandparents in Hawaii (an area where mixed-race children are essentially commonplace) has almost wholly divorced him from any semblance of an “African-American” heritage, except of course for what he could see and possibly assimilate from watching TV.

Even genetically, Obama; whose East African descent is apparent by his above-Black-median intelligence, generally non-aggressive, nonviolent nature, as well as his unusual facial features — has only a very distant relationship to West Africans, who are the predominant ancestors of American Blacks. But differences such as these just seem to make this nominal “African-American” all that much more endearing to Whites. So why are so many Whites, especially those in the media, so passionate about promoting this man for President in 2008?

Obama-mania appears to be quite similar to the Colin Powell craze of 1995. Of course, Powell had far better qualifications. He had been intimately involved in managing a successful international campaign, the Gulf War of 1991. He had also articulated a thoughtful, cautious policy for when and how to conduct military operations, the Powell Doctrine, a journalist created neologism, based in large part on the Weinberger Doctrine, the wisdom of which our current situation in Iraq has only served to underline. Supporting Obama for President, like supporting Powell a decade ago, is seen by many Whites as the ultimate in White Guilt absolution!

It is important to understand however, that White Guilt is quite different from, for example, Catholic Guilt — which consists of a very straightforward feeling of spiritual, personal and of course, moral failure.

By comparison, I don't think I've ever met even ONE White who personally felt any real guilt for the inability of Blacks, some 140+ years after slavery had ended, to fit and function within American society. But I HAVE known many Whites, who choose to loudly and unfairly blame Racial Realist Whites for the many obvious Black failures.

Some Whites choose to heap guilt upon their own ancestors, but many who publicly proclaim both the existence and reality of White Guilt, aren't at all averse to noting that their own forefathers arrived at Ellis Island long after slavery was over, thus absolving themselves forever of any inherited shame.

In other words, White Guilt is just another power ploy in the great American White status struggle. Negroes have become nothing more than mere pawns, used by some Whites in asserting a higher level of moral superiority over all other Whites.

Also, finding and punishing “guilty” Whites seems to have become almost a national obsession. One notorious example from current events is the framing of the White Duke University lacrosse players by Durham district attorney Mike Nifong (with the enthusiastic assistance of the Jew York Times) in their endless hunt for what Tom Wolfe, author of Bonfire of the Vanities calls “the Great White Defendant”. It appears that many Whites want to be able to say, “I'm not a hater, I'm not one of those bad Whites — l voted for a Black guy for President!”

I also suspect that there is an even more insidious reason many Whites wish Obama becomes selected for President — they hope that when Blacks finally move into and take over the White House, it will prove to ALL American Negroes, once and for all, that White animus isn't the root cause of all their troubles. They hope that it will show, once and for all, that all Blacks need to do is to live and behave just like “President Obama”, and all their problems will disappear as well!

It's quite a seductive vision, don't you think? It plays right into our national delusion — that race is only skin deep, that race is “all in our minds”, and that the solution for all racial conflict is to simply become color blind.

Of course, selecting Obama for President won't actually have any real effect upon typical Black behavior, just as electing Tom Bradley as Black mayor of Los Angeles for five terms in a row from 1973-1993, prevented the thousands of Black rioters from looting and burning down much of that city's commercial district in 1992. Another example could also be drawn from the more recent Black riots in Toledo Ohio, where electing a Black mayor, Jack Ford, had little effect in preventing the Black riots of October 15, 2005, which left many White and Asian-owned, North Toledo businesses, looted and in flames.

Since the Civil Rights Act was first enacted on July 2nd, 1964 — legislation which for the first time in our nation's history outlawed segregation in the United States, there have been at least 47 Black riots in the U.S. — far more Black civil unrest during the post-segregation period, than in any earlier period in history! Obama even cites such cases in a speech before Blacks at a meeting of the Hampton University Ministers' Conference where he claims “quiet riots that take place every day are born from the same place as the fires and the destruction and the police decked out in riot gear and the deaths” suggesting that Black frustration and resentment regarding their own genetically predisposed inability to fit and function within a healthy society, is again building toward yet another inevitable Black riot. Thus it has become immediately clear exactly why our forefathers and patriarchs enforced segregation between the races, and why they enacted the Jim Crow laws (separate but equal) — fairness laws which were put in place immediately following the ratification of the 14th amendment to abolish slavery.

In 1858, Abraham Lincoln publicly announced, “I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races, that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality.” Abraham Lincoln indeed may have believed that Blacks should enjoy the same freedom from bondage as Whites, but he also understood that freed Blacks, due to their incompatible genetic differences, should enjoy this new found freedom somewhere else, separated away from Whites. Lincoln was clearly not in favor of Blacks holding political office — especially not the same office which he held, the Presidency of the United States.

Lincoln even worked during the Civil War on a failed attempt to transport freed Blacks to colonies in the Caribbean, as he understood quite well, the great potential for miscegenation and of severe interracial conflict which would ensue if he did not! As a direct consequence of Lincoln's failure to colonize these freed Blacks outside of the United States, today we see both widespread miscegenation, as well as Black crime, violence and terror, just as was enumerated above. Deprecatory criticism aside, the unfortunate reality remains — there is no panacea for race! The roots of racial difference in America are fundamentally genetic, and these genetic differences stretch far back into the historical and prehistorical past of our respective peoples, spanning onto our separate and unique continents of evolutionary origin. No enacted laws nor spending measures can ever change these genetic differences. Symbolic gestures such as electing Black officials to high office simply don't have any demonstrable impact at all on these clearly genetically predetermined Black-White racial differences, nor upon the Black propensity for violence and crime.

Tutankhamun Was Not Black: Egypt Antiquities Chief

Egyptian antiquities supremo Zahi Hawass insisted Tuesday that Tutankhamun was not black despite calls by US black activists to recognise the boy king's dark skin colour. "Tutankhamun was not black, and the portrayal of ancient Egyptian civilisation as black has no element of truth to it," Hawass told reporters.

"Egyptians are not Arabs and are not Africans despite the fact that Egypt is in Africa," he said, quoted by the official MENA news agency.

Hawass said he was responding to several demonstrations in Philadelphia after a lecture he gave there on September 6 where he defended his theory. Negro protestors also claimed images of King Tut were altered to show him with lighter skin at the "Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs" exhibit which leaves Philadelphia for London on September 30.

The exhibition sparked an uproar when it kicked off in Los Angeles in June 2005 when Negro activists demanded that a bust of the boy king be removed because the statue portrays him as White.

The face of the legendary pharaoh, who died around 3,300 years ago at the age of just 19, was reconstructed in 2005 through images collected through CAT scans of his mummy. The boy king's intact tomb caused an international sensation when it was discovered by Briton Howard Carter in 1922 near Luxor in southern Egypt.

Yet Another White Victim of the Negro Crime Plague

Three Harnett County Negroes who are accused of killing a 12-year-old White girl last week made their first court appearance Tuesday morning and remain jailed under high security as they prepare for another hearing.

Van Roger Smith, 16, Sherrod Nicholas Harrison, 19, and Michael Graham Currie, 18, briefly appeared in Moore County court and were appointed attorneys. All of the suspects have Cameron addresses but live in Harnett County.

They have all been charged with first-degree murder and breaking and entering in the death of Emily Elizabeth Haddock. Emily was found dead Friday in her home on Marks Road outside of Vass. She had stayed home from school with strep throat and was alone when someone broke into the house and shot her several times with a .22-caliber handgun.

Two of the teens lived on Marks Road about six miles from the Haddock home. Harnett County authorities got a break in the case when they located a stolen .22-caliber handgun on Monday in a car with stolen plates in the Carolina Hills area of the county.

Another Negro, Perry Ross Schiro, 19, was charged in that case. He is in the Harnett County Jail on charges of burglary, larceny and possession of stolen property, but is not charged in the murder. Schiro, who also has a Cameron address, is being held on $100,000 secured bond. He is accused of stealing the gun last Thursday and authorities believe it could be the weapon used in the murders.

One of the three teens charged in the slaying is suspected in yet another break-in near the scene of the murder. He is considered a "person of interest" in an attempted break-in last Friday about a mile from the Haddock home. He was seen in the area of the break-in before Emily's death.

Two of the three accused killers and Schiro have extensive criminal records and now are on probation. Harrison is on probation for three breaking and entering charges. Currie has a long list of convictions including trespassing, simple assault, possession of stolen goods, unauthorized use of a conveyance and misdemeanor larceny.

Schiro is now on probation for charges of possession of stolen goods, possession with intent to sell schedule five narcotics, simple affray and simple assault.

According to The Fayetteville Observer, Emily was laid to rest Tuesday in front of a packed church in front of 400 people in Hope Mills. Flags at the school she attended flew at half-staff in her memory.

Australian Government Admits That Invader Doctors Cannot be Trusted

The Australian Minister for Immigration, Kevin Andrews, says the public cannot be confident about the screening procedures for overseas-trained doctors. Andrews has called for all state and territory medical boards to review the procedures they use to vet overseas-trained doctors before registering them to practice.

The move raises doubts about the processes used to check more than 4000 foreign doctors in Australia, many of whom work under limited supervision in country areas. About 1500 overseas-trained doctors work in NSW hospitals.

In a letter drafted for state medical boards, Andrews has hit out at what he says is "less than thorough employment vetting processes" that put at risk the integrity of the migration system.

His intervention follows the failure of terrorism charges against the Indian doctor Mohamed Haneef and the subsequent revelation that his colleague, Dr Mohammed Asif Ali, was found to have exaggerated his medical credentials and employment history.

"In order for Australians to have confidence in their overseas-trained doctors, they need to have full confidence that these doctors have undergone a rigorous assessment process," Mr Andrews writes in a letter expected to go to medical boards today.

"Given this case, I do not believe that Australians can be fully confident in the assessment system that currently exists.

He says the case "has highlighted to the Australian Government the risk to Australians' quality of health through inconsistent registration processes across different jurisdictions and less than thorough employment vetting processes".

South Africa is More Unsafe than Zimbabwe

South Africa being the third least safest place out of 48 countries on the African continent, indicates that SA is critically unsafe, an opposition political party in that country has claimed.

The party's spokesperson on Safety and Security MP Dianne Kohler Barnard said that the Mo Ibrahim Index of African Governance, which ranked SA as third most dangerous after "war zone" countries, Sudan and Burundi indicated that what citizens of that country had been crying out for years, was the truth.

"South Africa's safety and security performance is utterly abysmal. The fact that we are just 30 points above the most dangerous country in Africa, and right now, probably the world, must act as a loud wake-up call to the Minister of Safety and Security."

She added that countries including Congo, Angola, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe Rwanda and Liberia were far safer in terms of safety and security. "Although the government will continue to throw money at the crime problem, such an approach has had only limited success," Barnard said.

She said it was likely that companies and individuals would continue protecting their own security themselves. "This threatens to spawn a vigilante environment ... if a spate of violent robberies and killings of foreigners is repeated during the 2010 Soccer World Cup, the negative consequences for future tourism and foreign investment will be severe."

"ANC spin-doctors are already attempting to denigrate the Index, stating that, there is this hullabaloo over crime, and that South Africa is one of the safest countries in the world - for the ministers and their cronies perhaps, but most certainly not for the rest of us," Barnard said.

U.S. Nuclear Weapons Being “Guarded” by Israel

American supporters of Israel were delighted to learn that an Israeli company, Magal Security Systems-owned in part by the government of Israel-is in charge of security for the most sensitive nuclear power and weapons storage facilities in the United States.

The largest perimeter security company in the world, Magal started out as a division of Israeli Aircraft Industries (IAI)-which was owned in part by the government of Israel. In recent years, however, Magal evolved into a publicly-traded company, although IAI (and thus the government of Israel) still holds a substantial share in the highly successful firm.

What all of this means is that the government of Israel will actually have control over the security of America's nuclear weapons.

Supporters of Israel say that this is a splendid idea, since Israel is said to be perhaps America's closest ally on the face of the planet. However, there are some critics who question the propriety of America's super-sensitive nuclear security being in the hands of any foreign nation, particularly Israel which, even today, officially denies that it is engaged in the production of nuclear arms.

Be that as it may, however, Magal's global interests are quite broad-ranging. Having secured 90 percent of Israel's borders through a wide-ranging array of super-modern "space age" technology, Magal has now branched out internationally.

Not only does Magal provide security for American nuclear facilities, but it also does likewise for most major nuclear facilities in Western Europe and Asia. In addition, the Israeli firm also provides security for Chicago's O'Hare Airport and, for the last fifteen years, has kept watch on the Queen of England's famed Buckingham Palace in London. What's more, Magal provides security for 90% of the American prisons that utilize electronic systems. Magal brags that its other clients around the globe include: borders, airports, industrial sites, communication centers, military installations, correctional facilities, government agencies, VIP estates and residences, commercial buildings and storage yards.

There is hardly a major country or major enterprise that does not have Magal's security specialists keeping a close watch on their activities.

Clearly, Magal is no small enterprise. While 27% of its total sales are in the Israeli market, its largest market is in North America, which currently accounts for 35% of its sales.

However, Magal's American outreach is expected to increase substantially, especially now that firm has set up a Washington, D.C. office which will promote its products to federal agencies and to the members of Congress who provide funding for federally-supervised security projects across the country at all levels: local, state and national.

And with current U.S. Homeland Security Chief, Michael Chertoff, not only a strong supporter of Israel but also the son of a woman who has strong Israeli ties-even including service with El Al, the national airline of Israel-Magal, owned in party by Israeli Aircraft Industries-will be a clear-cut favorite in the eyes of the power brokers in official Washington who have the power to grant lucrative security contracts.

At the moment, Magal has four U.S.-based subsidiaries: two in California, Stellar Security Products, Inc. and Perimeter Products Inc., as well as the New York-based Smart Interactive Systems, Inc., and the Virginia-based Dominion Wireless, Inc.

All told, the Israeli company holds a 40% share in the worldwide market in perimeter intrusion detection systems and is working to expand its business in the protection of oil pipelines.

Magal is also said to be quite interested in guarding water lines around the globe, particularly in the United States. In fact, Magal may have an inside shot at getting a monopoly in guarding America's water supplies.

On July 19, the Bush administration's Environmental Protection Agency announced a "partnership" with the Israeli Ministry of National Infrastructures to improve what they called "water supply system security in the United States and Israel." Since Magal is so highly respected in Israel, it's an even bet that Magal will soon be guarding the U.S. water supply.

Why Did Israel Attack Syria?

Israel's air strike on northern Syria earlier this month should be understood in the context of events unfolding since its assault last summer on neighboring Lebanon.

From the leaks so far, it seems that more than half a dozen Israeli warplanes violated Syrian airspace to drop munitions on a site close to the border with Turkey. We also know from the US media that the raid occurred in close coordination with the White House. But what was the purpose and significance of the attack?

It is worth recalling that, in the wake of Israel's month-long war against Lebanon a year ago, a prominent American neoconservative, Meyrav Wurmser, wife of Vice-President Dick Cheney's recently departed Middle East adviser, explained that the war had dragged on because the White House delayed in imposing a ceasefire. The neocons, she said, wanted to give Israel the time and space to expand the attack to Damascus.

But faced with constant rocket fire from Hizbullah last summer, Israel's public and military nerves frayed at the first hurdle. Instead Israel and the US were forced to settle for a Security Council resolution rather than a decisive military victory.

The immediate fallout of the failed attack was an apparent waning of neocon influence. The group's program of "creative destruction" in the Middle East -- the encouragement of regional civil war and the partition of large states that threaten Israel -- was at risk of being shunted aside.

Instead the "pragmatists" in the Bush Administration, led by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and the new Defense Secretary Robert Gates, demanded a change of tack. The standoff reached a head in late 2006 when oilman James Baker and his Iraq Study Group began lobbying for a gradual withdrawal from Iraq -- presumably only after a dictator, this one more reliable, had again been installed in Baghdad. It looked as if the neocons' day in the sun had finally passed.

Israel's leadership understood the gravity of the moment. In January 2007 the Herzliya conference, an annual festival of strategy-making, invited no less than 40 Washington opinion-formers to join the usual throng of Israeli politicians, generals, journalists and academics. For a week the Israeli and American delegates spoke as one: Iran and its presumed proxy, Hizbullah, were bent on the genocidal destruction of Israel. Tehran's development of a nuclear program -- whether for civilian use, as Iran argues, or for military use, as the US and Israel claim -- had to be stopped at all costs.

While the White House turned uncharacteristically quiet all spring and summer about what it planned to do next, rumors that Israel was pondering a go-it-alone strike against Iran grew noisier by the day. Ex-Mossad officers warned of an inevitable third world war, Israeli military intelligence advised that Iran was only months away from the point of no return on developing a nuclear warhead, prominent leaks in sympathetic media revealed bombing runs to Gibraltar, and Israel started upping the pressure on several tens of thousands of Jews in Tehran to flee their homes and come to Israel.

While Western analysts opined that an attack on Iran was growing unlikely, Israel's neighbors watched nervously through the first half of the year as the vague impression of a regional war came ever more sharply into focus. In particular Syria, after witnessing the whirlwind of savagery unleashed against Lebanon last summer, feared it was next in line in the US-Israeli campaign to break Tehran's network of regional alliances. It deduced, probably correctly, that neither the US nor Israel would dare attack Iran without first clobbering Hizbullah and Damascus.

For some time Syria had been left in no doubt of the mood in Washington. It failed to end its pariah status in the post-9/11 period, despite helping the CIA with intelligence on al-Qaeda and secretly trying to make peace with Israel over the running sore of the occupied Golan Heights. It was rebuffed at every turn.

So as the clouds of war grew darker in the spring, Syria responded as might be expected. It went to the arms market in Moscow and bought up the displays of anti-aircraft missiles as well as anti-tank weapons of the kind Hizbullah demonstrated last summer were so effective at repelling Israel's planned ground invasion of south Lebanon.

As the Israeli military historian Martin van Creveld reluctantly conceded earlier this year, US policy was forcing Damascus to remain within Iran's uncomfortable embrace: "Syrian President Bashar al-Assad finds himself more dependent on his Iranian counterpart, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, than perhaps he would like."

Israel, never missing an opportunity to wilfully misrepresent the behavior of an enemy, called the Syrian military build-up proof of Damascus' appetite for war. Apparently fearful that Syria might initiate a war by mistaking the signals from Israel as evidence of aggressive intentions, the Israeli prime minister, Ehud Olmert, urged Syria to avoid a "miscalculation". The Israeli public spent the summer braced for a far more dangerous repeat of last summer's war along the northern border.

It was at this point -- with tensions simmeringly hot -- that Israel launched its strike, sending several fighter planes into Syria on a lightning mission to hit a site near Dayr a-Zawr. As Syria itself broke the news of the attack, Israeli generals were shown on TV toasting in the Jewish new year but refusing to comment.

Details have remained thin on the ground ever since: Israel imposed a news blackout that has been strictly enforced by the country's military censor. Instead it has been left to the Western media to speculate on what occurred.

One point that none of the pundits and analysts have noted was that, in attacking Syria, Israel committed a blatant act of aggression against its northern neighbor of the kind denounced as the "supreme international crime" by the Nuremberg war crimes tribunal.

Also, no one pointed out the obvious double standard applied to Israel's attack on Syria compared to the far less significant violation of Israeli sovereignty by Hizbullah a year earlier, when the Shia militia captured two Israel soldiers at a border post and killed three more. Hizbullah's act was widely accepted as justification for the bombardment and destruction of much of Lebanon, even if a few sensitive souls agonized over whether Israel's response was "disproportionate". Would these commentators now approve of similar retaliation by Syria?

The question was doubtless considered unimportant because it was clear from Western coverage that no one -- including the Israeli leadership -- believed Syria was in a position to respond militarily to Israel's attack. Olmert's fear of a Syrian "miscalculation" evaporated the moment Israel did the maths for Damascus.

So what did Israel hope to achieve with its aerial strike?

The stories emerging from the less gagged American media suggest two scenarios. The first is that Israel targeted Iranian supplies passing through Syria on their way to Hizbullah; the second that Israel struck at a fledgling Syrian nuclear plant where materials from North Korea were being offloaded, possibly as part of a joint nuclear effort by Damascus and Tehran.

(Speculation that Israel was testing Syria's anti-aircraft defences in preparation for an attack on Iran ignores the fact that the Israeli air force would almost certainly choose a flightpath through friendlier Jordanian airspace.)

How credible are these two scenarios?

The nuclear claims against Damascus were discounted so quickly by experts of the region that Washington was soon downgrading the accusation to claims that Syria was only hiding the material on North Korea's behalf. But why would Syria, already hounded by Israel and the US, provide such a readymade pretext for still harsher treatment? Why, equally, would North Korea undermine its hard-won disarmament deal with the US? And why, if Syria were covertly engaging in nuclear mischief, did it alert the world to the fact by revealing the Israeli air strike?

The other justification for the attack was at least based in a more credible reality: Damascus, Hizbullah and Iran undoubtedly do share some military resources. But their alliance should be seen as the kind of defensive pact needed by vulnerable actors in a Sunni-dominated region where the US wants unlimited control of Gulf oil and supports only those repressive regimes that cooperate on its terms. All three are keenly aware that it is Israel's job to threaten and punish any regimes that fail to toe the line.

Contrary to the impression being created in the West, genocidal hatred of Israel and Jews, however often Ahmadinejad's speeches are mistranslated, is not the engine of these countries' alliance.

Nonetheless, the political significance of the justifications for the Israeli air strike is that both neatly tie together various strands of an argument needed by the neocons and Israel in making their case for an attack on Iran before Bush leaves office in early 2009. Each scenario suggests a Shia "axis of evil", coordinated by Iran, that is actively plotting Israel's destruction. And each story offers the pretext for an attack on Syria as a prelude to a pre-emptive strike against Tehran -- launched either by Washington or Tel Aviv -- to save Israel.

That these stories appear to have been planted in the American media by neocon fanatics like John Bolton is warning enough -- as is the admission that the only evidence for Syrian malfeasance is Israeli "intelligence", the basis of which cannot be questioned as Israel is not officially admitting the attack.

It should hardly need pointing out that we are again in a hall of mirrors, as we were during the period leading up to America's invasion of Iraq and have been during its subsequent occupation.

Bush's "war on terror" was originally justified with the convenient and manufactured links between Iraq and al-Qaeda, as well as, of course, those WMDs that, it later turned out, had been destroyed years earlier. But ever since Tehran has invariably been the ultimate target of these improbable confections.

There were the forged documents proving both that Iraq had imported enriched uranium from Niger to manufacture nuclear warheads and that it was sharing its nuclear know-how with Iran. And as Iraq fell apart, neocon operatives like Michael Ledeen lost no time in spreading rumors that the missing nuclear arsenal could still be accounted for: Iranian agents had simply smuggled it out of Iraq during the chaos of the US invasion.

Since then our media have proved that they have no less of an appetite for such preposterous tales. If Iran's involvement in stirring up its fellow Shia in Iraq against the US occupation is at least possible, the same cannot be said of the regular White House claims that Tehran is behind the Sunni-led insurgencies in Iraq and Afghanistan. A few months ago the news media served up "revelations" that Iran was secretly conspiring with al-Qaeda and Iraq's Sunni militias to oust the US occupiers.

So what purpose does the constant innuendo against Tehran serve?

The latest accusations should be seen as an example of Israel and the neocons "creating their own reality", as one Bush adviser famously observed of the neocon philosophy of power. The more that Hizbullah, Syria and Iran are menaced by Israel, the more they are forced to huddle together and behave in ways to protect themselves -- such as arming -- that can be portrayed as a "genocidal" threat to Israel and world order.

Van Creveld once observed that Tehran would be "crazy" not to develop nuclear weapons given the clear trajectory of Israeli and US machinations to overthrow the regime. So equally Syria cannot afford to jettison its alliance with Iran or its involvement with Hizbullah. In the current reality, these connections are the only power it has to deter an attack or force the US and Israel to negotiate.

But they are also the evidence needed by Israel and the neocons to convict Syria and Iran in the court of Washington opinion. The attack on Syria is part of a clever hustle, one designed to vanquish or bypass the doubters in the Bush Administration, both by proving Syria's culpability and by provoking it to respond.

Condoleezza Rice, it emerged at the weekend, wants to invite Syria to attend the regional peace conference that has been called by President Bush for November. There can be no doubt that such an act of détente is deeply opposed by both Israel and the neocons. It reverses their strategy of implicating Damascus in the "Shia arc of extremism" and of paving the way to an attack on the real target: Iran.

Syria, meanwhile, is fighting back, as it has been for some time, with the only means available: the diplomatic offensive. For two years Bashar al-Assad has been offering a generous peace deal to Israel on the Golan Heights that Tel Aviv has refused to consider. This week, Syria made a further gesture towards peace with an offer on another piece of territory occupied by Israel, the Shebaa Farms. Under the plan, the Farms -- which the United Nations now agrees belongs to Lebanon, but which Israel still claims is Syrian and cannot be returned until there is a deal on the Golan Heights -- would be transferred to UN custody until the dispute over its sovereignty can be resolved.

Were either of Damascus' initiatives to be pursued, the region might be looking forward to a period of relative calm and security. Which is reason enough why Israel and the neocons are so bitterly opposed. Instead they must establish a new reality -- one in which the forces of "creative destruction" so beloved of the neocons engulf yet more of the region. For the rest of us, a simpler vocabulary suffices. What is being sold is catastrophe.

African archbishop says condoms deliberately infected with HIV

The head of the Catholic Church in Mozambique has told the BBC he believes some European-made condoms are infected with HIV deliberately.

Maputo Archbishop Francisco Chimoio claimed some anti-retroviral drugs were also infected "in order to finish quickly the African people".

The Catholic Church formally opposes any use of condoms, advising fidelity within marriage or sexual abstinence.

Aids activists have been angered by the remarks, one calling them "nonsense".

"We've been using condoms for years now, and we still find them safe," prominent Mozambican Aids activist Marcella Mahanjane told the BBC.

The UN says anti-retrovirals (ARVs) have proved very effective for treating people with Aids. The drugs are not a cure, but attack the virus on several fronts at once.

The BBC's Jose Tembe in the capital, Maputo, says it is estimated that 16.2% of Mozambique's 19m inhabitants are HIV positive.

About 500 people are infected every day.

'Serious matter'

Archbishop Chimoio told our reporter that abstention, not condoms, was the best way to fight HIV/Aids.

"Condoms are not sure because I know that there are two countries in Europe, they are making condoms with the virus on purpose," he alleged, refusing to name the countries.

"They want to finish with the African people. This is the programme. They want to colonise until up to now. If we are not careful we will finish in one century's time."

Aids activists in the country have been shocked by the archbishop's comments.

"Condoms are one of the best ways of getting protection against catching Aids," said Gabe Judas, who runs Tchivirika (Hard Work) - an theatre group that promotes HIV/Aids awareness.

"People must use condoms as it's a safe way of having sex without catching Aids," he told the BBC.

Archbishop Chimoio, who made the remarks at celebrations to mark 33 years of independence, said that fighting the disease was a serious matter.

"If we are joking with this sickness we will be finished as soon as possible.

"If we want to change the situation to face HIV/Aids it's necessary to have a new mentality, if we don't change mentality we'll be finished quickly," he said.

"It means marriage, people being faithful to their wives... (and) young people must be abstaining from sexual relations."

Our correspondent says the archbishop is well respected in the country and the Catholic Church played a leading role in sponsoring the 1992 peace deal that ended a 16-year civil war.

Some 17.5% of Mozambicans are Catholic.

Hate Crimes Bill Passes Senate

By a vote of 60 to 39 this morning, Sens. Kennedy and Smith’s hate crimes amendment was attached to the defense authorization act. After three days of virtual silence, several Republican senators spoke against the bill within the two hours of debate. Sen. Lindsey Graham briefly argued that, if passed, the President will veto the hate bill and arms bill together, jeopardizing timely support of our troops. Sen. Jeff Sessions contended that states are adequately dealing with hate crimes and that Kennedy’s amendment burdens the defense authorization bill. Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell, arriving after the debate, was allowed to very briefly state that a hate bill was irrelevant to an arms bill.

The real hero of the day was Sen. Orrin Hatch. Yesterday he stood alone among Republicans to publicly oppose the hate bill. But today he spoke three times with powerful, logical, legal, and constitutional reasons why the hate bill is redundant to state law enforcement, which adequately deals with all kinds of violent crime. He said that gender identity, as put forth in this legislation, is unclear. Its definition depends on the subjective perceptions of both the hate criminal and the victim. He offered his own amendment (which was later passed unanimously) calling for the federal government to authorize studies to determine if states are adequately enforcing hate crimes laws.

Remarkably, Sen. Byrd of West Virginia , habitual supporter of the hate bill, voted against it. If only one more pro-hate bill Senator, Democrat or Republican, had been persuaded, either by massive calling during the last week or by impassioned attack of the hate bill on the floor of the Senate, the hate bill would have been destroyed in this Congress. It would have to be resubmitted in the next Congress under the stigma of having been rejected six times. Yes, the President has promised to veto today’s hate bill victory. But at the same time, the hate bill, through passage now by both House and Senate, is energized and dignified as never before to be easily ratified in the next Congress, little more than a year from now.

Credit for hate bill victory must largely go to the repeated impassioned speeches by Sens. Kennedy and Smith, but leaders of the religious right and Republican senators are, by default, just as responsible. Since the defense appropriations act was introduced 16 days ago, opening the possibility of hate bill attachment, there has been an astonishing lack of consistent warning from leaders of the religious right. This has grown even more acute since Monday, with a virtual blackout of warning from all new right websites (See, Do New Right Leaders Want Hate Bill Passed? and Hate Bill Ready for a Vote). As a result, the millions of calls which might have been generated amounted to a relative trickle. Only at the last minute, yesterday, when it became virtually impossible to influence today’s Senate vote, did new right leaders send out calls to action.

Such dereliction of duty was reflected on the floor of the Senate this week by the silence of Senators well known to oppose hate laws. Day after day they ignored invitations to speak to the Senate against the hate bill.

Both new right leaders and Republican senators represent themselves as watchmen on the wall, guardians of our freedom. Yet God told the prophet Ezekiel that if, as such a watchman, he knew the enemy was coming and yet did not sound the alarm, he would lose his eternal soul (Ez. 33)

For the past several weeks, both Christian and Republican leaders have seen the enemy coming. Yet they did not sound the alarm in a timely and effective way. For this they will have to answer to their Creator. Meanwhile, all Americans now are very, very much closer to having to answer to the federal “thought police” for every idle word that is not politically correct.

In Russia’s Ulanovsk region, Sept. 12 is Conception Day.

Workers are given the day off and encouraged to go home and do their best to conceive a new Russian. The hope is to have a bumper crop of babies on Russia’s national holiday, nine months off.

Conception Day has occasioned much mirth and ribald humor. But for Mother Russia, the issue of her children is no laughing matter.

Two decades ago, the Soviet Union was three times the size of any of the other giant nation – the United States, Canada, China, Brazil – and the third most populous, with nearly 300 million people. Came then the great crack-up of 1990-91.

The Baltic republics – Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia – broke free first. Next were Belarus, Ukraine and Moldova in the west; Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan in the Caucasus; and Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan in Central Asia.

These amputations removed a third of the territory and half the population of the Soviet Union. Yet the remnant, Russia, remained twice as large as any other nation and still boasted a population of 150 million.

Since the 1990s, however, Russia has been losing population at a rate of 750,000 a year – not to emigration, but to death. By one count, the Russian population is down to 143 million. President Putin has predicted that only 124 million Russians will be alive in 2015. In 2000, the United Nations projected that, at its present birth rate, by 2050 Russia’s population would fall to 114 million.

In a 2005 study, the United Nations estimated that, together, Ukraine and Russia will lose 50 million people – 25 percent of their combined populations – by mid-century. The Slavs are dying out, and the geostrategic implications are enormous.

In a few decades, Turkey, which seeks entry into the European Union, will become Europe’s most populous nation. Like Xerxes’ bridge of boats across the Hellespont, Turkey will be the Asian land bridge into Europe, the Bridge of The Prophet into the homeland of the Christians.

As critical, the vast majority of Russians live west of the Urals, while east of Novosibirsk (New Siberia City), all the way to Kamchatka, the tiny Russian population is departing or dying out. Yet, in timber, oil and minerals, this is the most resource-rich region on earth. And south of Siberia lies the most populous and resource-hungry nation on earth.

American children born today may have Chinese for neighbors across the Bering Strait from Alaska.

Nor is it only the Slavic peoples who are expiring. So, too, are the native-born populations of Western and Southern Europe, as the empty nurseries of Europa fill with bawling Muslim babies.

Americans of European ancestry are also declining as a share of the U.S. population, down from near 90 percent into 1960 to 66 percent today. Anglos, as they are called now, are now minorities in our two largest states, Texas and California, and, by 2040, will be a minority in the nation that people of British and European stock built.

Last month, the Census Bureau projected the U.S. population would grow by 167 million by 2060, to 468 million.

And immigrants and their children will constitute 105 million of that 167 million. That would be triple the 37.5 million legal and illegal immigrants here today, which is itself the largest cohort of foreigners any nation has ever taken in.

With the 45 million Hispanics here to rise to 102 million by 2050, the Southwest is likely to look and sound more like Mexico than America. Indeed, culturally, linguistically and ethnically, it will be a part of Mexico.

Like Russians, Americans of European ancestry are failing to reproduce. Yet, a closer look reveals that population growth remains healthy among the religiously devout – evangelical Christians, Catholic traditionalists, Muslims and Mormons. Among the secularists, however, birth rates are far below Zero Population Growth – and the possibility of extinction looms.

One recent study found that the Jewish population in the United States fell by 6 percent in the 1990s, from 5.5 million to 5.2 million. Orthodox Jews, however, are known for families of five, eight or 10 children.

“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and have dominion … over every living creature.” So reads Genesis. And so European Man once preached and practiced. But having lost his empires along with his faith, European Man no longer sees himself as commissioned by God.

Indeed, he no longer believes in God. Among our best and brightest are many whose purpose is to enjoy life to the fullest and to end it, when the time comes, as painlessly as possible.

Which seems to suit the rest of the world – China, India, Islam, Africa, Latin America – fine, as all look forward to a magnificent inheritance.

If demography is destiny, the West is finished. And, if so, does it really matter all that much who rules in Baghdad?

What the Talmud Really Says About Jesus

Will Peter Schaefer's new book, Jesus in the Talmud (Mar.), be controversial? "I'm afraid so," Schaefer told RBL. "That's why I'm nervous."

His editor at Princeton University Press, Brigitta van Rheinberg, laughed but agreed: "You think, oh, whoa, this is not going to go over well in certain circles."

Schaefer, who heads up Princeton's Judaic studies program, has collected and analyzed all the passages in the Talmud that apparently refer to the founder of Christianity, texts that were previously censored from Talmud editions for centuries. In his book he argues—against other scholars—that the scandalous passages indeed refer not to some other figure of ancient times but to the famous Jesus of Nazareth.

What exactly is so scandalous? How about Jesus punished in Hell for eternity by being made to sit in a cauldron of boiling excrement? That image appears in early manuscripts of the Babylonian Talmud, as does a brief account of Jesus' trial and execution—not by the Romans but by the Jewish high court, the Sanhedrin. The Jewish community, to the extent Jews were even aware of these excised texts, has been content to let them remain obscure and unknown.

Schaefer, a distinguished German-born Christian scholar who describes classical rabbinic literature as "my first love," has now definitively let the cat out of the bag. This undermines a widespread assumption that, of Judaism's and Christianity's respective sacred texts, only the Christian Gospels go out of their way to assail the rival faith, whereas Judaism's classical texts refrain from similar attacks.

It seems fair to say now, however, that the Talmud is every bit as offensive to Christians as the Gospels are to Jews.

The Talmud's scattered portrait of Jesus unapologetically mocks Christian doctrines including the virgin birth and the resurrection. Which isn't to say that the rabbinic invective is meant simply to insult. In his book, the author calls the Talmud's assault on Christian claims "devastating."

"It is a very serious argument," said Schaefer, who emphasizes that the rabbis' stories about Jesus were never intended as an attempt at historically accurate narrative. Rather, in the classic Talmudic style, they encode legal and theological argumentation in the form of sometimes-imaginative storytelling.

One naturally wonders, when Jesus in the Talmud is published, what the results will be for Jewish-Christian relations. "I certainly don't want to harm Jewish-Christian dialogue. God forbid," Schaefer said. But dialogue requires honesty, and "I'm trying to be honest."

WASHINGTON — A radical Zionist of Russian Jewish parentage has
been appointed by President Bush to be the next attorney general
of the United States, replacing Alberto Gonzales, who recently
resigned in disgrace. He is New York Federal Judge Michael Mukasey.

Mukasey is expected to win speedy Senate confirmation as the nation's
top law enforcement officer, with members of both parties rallying in
support. One of them is Charles Schumer, the Jewish Democratic
senator from New York, who expressed glowing praise for the nomination.

The nomination was also hailed by William Kristol, a well-known Jewish
supremacist and editor of The Weekly Standard, a leading neo-conservative
magazine.

Judge Mukasey and his wife, both Orthodox Jews, have been long-time
supporters of the most radical elements of the Jewish community in New
York and Israel. His wife Susan was one of the biggest fundraisers in New
York for the illegal Jewish settlements on Palestinian land, this despite the
stated policy of the United States government against such settlements.

Mukasey has also been a strong supporter of the so-called Patriot Act
restricting the rights of American citizens. Last month he wrote an op-ed
piece in The Wall Street Journal, in which he complained about "the
inadequacy of the current approach to terrorism prosecutions," a view
shared by the Bush administration in its war on civil liberties.

Worked with Chertoff on cover-up

As federal judge in New York, Mukasey has been in the middle of the 9/11
coverup. From his new position he will be able to quash any serious dissent
on 9/11, as Israel's role in that disaster becomes ever clearer.

A dedicated Zionist, Mukasey worked with the then head of the Justice
Department Terrorism Task Force, Michael Chertoff, to free apprehended
Israeli spy teams and get them safely back to Israel and away from 9/11
investigators and the 9/11 commission as material witnesses.

Among these were the five dancing Israelis who were picked up by the FBI
after they had filmed themselves with the World Trade Center towers
burning in the background.

The Israelis had multiple passports, box cutters, large amounts of cash and
turned out to be Mossad agents, complete with military training in explosives
and special ops. As hundreds of Americans were being burned alive, they
were seen laughing, cheering and dancing in celebration.

Democracy in Action: Zundel Attorney Charged

From the democratic Federal Republic of Germany comes the news that the Mannheim state attorney's office has brought nine counts of Volksverhetzung — "mass incitement" — against attorney Jürgen Rieger. The 61-year-old dissident, previously convicted on similar charges, had defended Holocaust™ challenger Ernst Zündel in court.

According to a spokesman for the prosecutor's office, Rieger himself is accused of having, as Zündel's defense counsel, repeatedly disputed and "played down" the alleged genocide of Jews in World War II.

In addition, the state attorney's office is seeking to have the well-known Hamburg jurist barred from legal practice. No date has been set for trial of the case.

In February Zündel was sentenced to a maximum five years in prison for so-called mass incitement. According to the court, he disputed the death of six million Jews on the Internet from Canada and in related publications.

The federal court, meanwhile, has rejected an appeal. At the trial, Zündel's defense — representing five lawyers before the court — called the casualty figures of the Jewish "holocaust" into question.

Another Zündel defense attorney, Sylvia Stolz, has been accused of Volksverhetzung. She has been ordered to appear on November 15 before the state court in Mannheim. The state attorney's office is likewise seeking to have her disbarred from legal practice. Because of "sabotage" the lawyer was excluded from the Zündel trial.

Freedom Party Leads Anti-Islamification drive in Austria

A Muslim leader in Austria sounded the alarm about the growing influence of some “far-right” political parties, which are waging an onslaught against Islam and Muslims in the country.

Interviewed by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Anas Shakfa, chief of an official Islamic organization in Austria, refuted recent allegations claimed by the Freedom Party as “ungrounded and divorced from reality.”

Last week, Freedom party demonstrators protested against what they called the "building of mosques and minarets in Austria".

Shakfa believed that the ongoing campaign against Muslims and religious rituals began in Germany and then moved to Austria through far-right parties. He voiced concern over anti-Muslim statements by some moderate political leaders in Austria, who are on good terms with the Muslim community in the country.

The onslaught against the building of mosques was sparked by Freedom party leader Heinz Christianne Stracher and continued by Alliance for the Future of Austria leader Jurg Haider. It was also joined by Counselor Molterer Wilhem of the conservative Austrian People's Party, a partner in the ruling alliance.

There are some 350,000 Muslims living in Austria, constituting four percent of the country's population of eight million.

Islam has become the second key religion in the Austrian capital, Vienna.

Russian Youth Group Praised for Helping Arrest Invaders

The Russian Federal Migration Service on Monday lauded members of a nationalist youth group for rounding up dozens of illegal foreign workers and turning them over to authorities.

Migration service chief Konstantin Romodanovsky told reporters that Mestniye members "really helped" the agency in detaining 72 people attempting to obtain work illegally, Interfax reported.

Romodanovsky did not elaborate on the nature of Mestniye's assistance, but the youth group's spokesman, Andrei Groznetsky, said activists used subterfuge to blow the whistle on the workers.

In a daylong operation Saturday, Mestniye activists pulled up in cars to a market near Yaroslavskoye Shosse in northeast Moscow where migrant workers typically wait for temporary manual labor jobs.

"It's no secret that they hide in groups next to the building materials store near the market looking for work," Groznetsky said. The driver, posing as a businessman in search of cheap labor to renovate his dacha, would call over three or four foreigners standing nearby and offer them 1,000 rubles each for four hours of work, Groznetsky said. But instead of taking them to the dacha, the driver would then drop the workers off at a nearby migration service office to have their documents checked, he said.

"We have close links with the Federal Migration Service and have helped them before," Groznetsky said. Created two years ago as a pro-Kremlin youth group, Mestniye has drifted more toward anti-immigration stunts in line ideologically with the ultranationalist Movement Against Illegal Immigration.

Vlaams Belang Launches "Stop Islamisation" Program

Belgium’s populist Vlaams Belang party is going to launch a campaign to "stop Islamisation," first in Antwerp and later in other cities. The party is calling for a stop to the registration of newcomers in the city, a restriction on the number of mosques, and the expulsion of radical imams.

VB faction leader in the Flemish Parliament Filip Dewinter says that Islam is pursuing a deliberate strategy to conquer Flemish cities. That is being done through increasing concentration, the formation of ghettos, and the refusal to integrate, he says.

More and more native Belgians are leaving the cities and the government is making the situation worse, Dewinter says. "Allah is great and Patrick Janssens is his prophet. He keeps giving in on essential issues and is not putting a stop to the Islamisation of our city," Dewinter says.

Vlaams Belang wants to put a stop to immigration to Antwerp and encourage voluntary repatriation. In addition Vlaams Belang wants Islam to be scrapped as a recognized religion and that any subsidies by stopped.

"Personal religious observance should be free, also for Muslims, but we do not think that a sort of Islamic pillar of society should be created in our country to which we have to make all sorts of concessions, like segregated swimming areas and halal food in public schools," Dewinter says.

Twelve Percent of Germans Might Vote for “Far Right”

A survey of Germans has found that one-eighth, or twelve percent, of Germans might contemplate voting for “far-right parties which embrace neo-Nazis,” the weekly magazine Stern said Wednesday.

Thanks to a rule that excludes parties unable to win at least 5 per cent of the vote nationwide, German rightists have never managed to enter the Bundestag parliament during the post-World-War-II era.

The survey, by Forsa pollsters, found 2 per cent of Germans were regular voters for the German Nationalist Democratic Party and its ally the German People's Union DVU.

Another 4 per cent could contemplate voting for either party, while 7 per cent said they could "perhaps contemplate" casting a vote for the far right. The three groups together comprised 13 per cent of German adults. Forsa questioned 3,773 Germans.

Gabriele Pauli, who poses on her web site in motorcycle leathers, is standing for the leadership of Bavaria's Christian Social Union (CSU) -- sister party of Chancellor Angela Merkel's conservative Christian Democrats (CDU) -- in a vote next week.

She told reporters at the launch of her campaign manifesto on Wednesday she wanted marriage to expire after seven years and accused the CSU, which promotes traditional family values, of nurturing ideals of marriage which are wide of the mark.

"The basic approach is wrong ... many marriages last just because people believe they are safe," she told reporters. "My suggestion is that marriages expire after seven years."

After that time, couples should either agree to extend their marriage or it should be automatically dissolved, she said.

Fifty-year-old Pauli, twice divorced, is a maverick intent on shaking up her male-dominated and mainly Catholic party which has dominated Bavarian politics since World War Two.

"This is about bringing ideas into the CSU and starting a discussion," she told German television on Thursday after she had unleashed a wave of criticism from other politicians.

Former foe Stoiber said she did not belong in the CSU and European lawmaker Ingo Freidrich dismissed her views.

"She is diametrically contradicting our Christian, ethical values," Freidrich said.

Peter Ramsauer, head of the CSU in Germany's parliament, compared Pauli's ideas to "the dirt under your fingernails".

Pauli, who attracted attention earlier this year when she posed for a magazine wearing long black latex gloves, was at the centre of a snooping scandal which eventually led to Stoiber, Bavarian premier for 14 years, saying he would stand down early.

She said his office tried to obtain details about lovers and alcohol consumption to use against her.

The CSU will elect Stoiber's successor as party head at a conference next week. He will be replaced as state premier in early October.

Viewed as a party rebel, Pauli stands almost no chance of winning next week's vote. The contest has been fought mainly between Bavarian state economy minister Erwin Huber and German Consumer Minister Horst Seehofer.

The popularity of Seehofer, a 58-year-old married father of three, has suffered from the disclosure that he had been having an affair with a younger woman who recently had his baby.

Some Oregon schools adopting Mexican curriculum

Some Oregon high schools are adopting Mexico's public school curriculum to help educate Spanish-speaking students with textbooks, an online Web site, DVDs and CDs provided free by Mexico to teach math, science and even U.S. history.

The Oregon Department of Education and Mexico's Secretariat of Public Education are discussing aligning their curricula so courses will be valid in both countries.

Similar ventures are under way in Yakima, Wash., San Diego, Calif., and Austin, Texas.

"Students come to us with such complex issues," said Tim King, director of Clackamas Middle College and Clackamas Web Academy, where a virtual course using Mexico's learning materials got started this week.

"We've had to change in order to fit into each school scene, become more complex and open ourselves up to new situations."

Oregon officials say the approach is intended as a supplement to keep students learning in Spanish while also gaining English skills.

Until now, Oregon school districts generally have relied on bilingual aides or used Spanish material different from the English material others are studying.

"That's not enough," said Patrick Burk, chief policy officer with the superintendent's office of the Oregon Department of Education. He said the idea is minimal disruption for immigrant Latinos.

"The availability of resources is astounding," said Burk, who flew to Mexico with Oregon curriculum officials in August to discuss making equivalency standards official. "We're able to serve the students so much better if we're working together."

Mexico has made its national curriculum available to communities across the U.S. since 2001 to encourage Mexican adults and youths to continue an education often abandoned back home due to limited resources.

"We wanted people to be aware that they have to study," said Patricia Ramos, the director of national affairs for Mexico's Institute for Adult Education and National Advisory of Education for Life and Work.

"You have to dare to study and make use of technology because that way, it will be easier to adapt to where you now live."

In other places, the curriculum was used to educate students' parents, rescue dropouts and even teach inmates. A program exists now at MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility in Woodburn.

The program caught the attention of public schools such as Reynolds High School in Troutdale and Marshall Night School, an alternative school based at Marshall High School in Portland.

At Marshall, the material has been used in night school and may soon move into daytime classrooms.

At Reynolds, educators began using part of Mexico's curriculum to teach a Spanish literacy class.

Students learned punctuation and sentence structure in Spanish and then saw improvement in English progress, said Dale Bernardini, a teacher who handles the partnership for Reynolds School District.

This fall, textbooks, DVDs and Mexico's curriculum Web were introduced in Francisco Rico's math classroom at Reynolds.

"We're just ahead with all the materials," he said. "We have the Web site where students can do exercises ... they can learn through visual and audio. We were having trouble bringing something that would be familiar to their culture."

In Washington state, nearly 30 schools have already implemented Mexico's curriculum into the classrooms.

In Oregon, learning materials are free, but districts must pay for staff. So far, two computer servers supporting Mexico's Web site cost the state about $10,000 to install and about $2,200 annually to maintain.

One of the biggest challenges will be finding more Spanish-speaking instructors, said Burk of the Oregon Department of Education.

He said about 15 percent of Oregon students are Latino, compared with 2 percent of teachers.

A German archbishop has sparked controversy by calling some modern art "degenerate" - a term used by the Nazi regime in its persecution of artists.
Cardinal Joachim Meisner, Archbishop of Cologne, was speaking as the Church inaugurated its Kolumba art museum.

Cardinal Meisner warned that when art became estranged from worship, culture became degenerate.

The cardinal had not intended to pay tribute to "old ideologies", a spokesman said.

The BBC's Marianne Landzettel says this was no off-the-cuff remark by the cardinal, delivered in a sermon in Cologne Cathedral, but was precisely scripted.

She says the phrase degenerate art - "entartete Kunst" - in German has only one connotation: that of Nazi Germany and the persecution of artists, the banning of paintings and the burning of books.

"Entartete Kunst" was the name of an exhibition of works organised by the Nazis in 1937 in Munich as a warning to the German people.

In a newspaper interview, the North Rhine-Westphalia culture secretary, Hans-Dietrich Grosse-Brockhoff, said it was appalling that Cardinal Meisner had used such a word.

Former minister Michael Vesper also said he was shocked.

"I thought all this was history, and then it is a high-ranking member of the Catholic clergy who uses it," he said.

After Adolf Hitler came to power in 1933, the Nazi government started to bring art under its control.

All modern art, and Expressionism in particular, was labelled degenerate and was not to be shown in public.

More than 15,000 paintings were removed from German museums.

Recently Cardinal Meisner expressed opposition to a new stained-glass window in Cologne Cathedral.

The abstract work by renowned artist Gerhard Richter contains thousands of squares.

The archbishop's supporters say he is not opposed to modern art as such but wanted the window to be a more figurative representation, including of those who suffered under Nazi persecution.

Correspondents say any sign of agreement with the Nazis is taboo in Germany.

Let it be said that the defense submissions appealing the harsh
Mannheim sentence consisted of more than 800 carefully crafted pages

Since I am archiving for history the many facets of this epic
struggle between the Germans and the Jews, I thought it is

There always was a kind of heavyness, a kind of foreboding in the
air, and after two or three lightning strikes and sharp thunder
clasps, the sluice gates of heaven opened up - lukewarm rain would
fall plentifully. There would rise steam from the meadows and forests
- and the air would smell heavenly ! Only a peasant would be able to
appreciate what freshly-watered soil smells like !

Thus, after the stresses and the strains, the constant struggles and
battles and cajoling of the lawyers to try to get them to undertake
certain initiatives, now a certain calm is setting in. I was ordered
to pack and remove my court-related documents from my cell, A
certain realization is setting in that the end phase is [at hand]!

The most amazing, dedicated, quietly competent lawyer [of the
Mannheim trial] was Dr. Schaller. A delight to work with ! I had
invited him to Canada to observe the appeal of one of my trials,
liked him, and we remained in contact ever since. Although unwell, he
consented to help me. I was delighted, for there is no one who takes
the time to weigh every word, who has the enormous background
knowledge, which is a real asset in these cases ! And he is cultured,
with good manners. This has meant that I could draw on his knowledge
and rely on his topics and documents, which he had assembled over a
53-year-spanning career.

Thus justice was done to the cause before history, even if little
justice was done to me by my detractors and persecutors, which
usually happens in these types of cases throughout history.

There are, now that the case is before the Bundesgerichtshof, two
more relatively simple hurdles to take : the Bundesverfassungsgericht
and then the European Court of Human Rights.

If the finances last, we will go there, in order that NO Germans can
say that they did not have a chance to confront and examine their
history. That does not mean that I expect justice will be done - it
is important historically, in the context of the German nation ! And
Karma.

It is also important to me as a person and a son of Germany, that I
stood the ground and did not (S) make foul, unethical compromises in
order to get a lesser sentence, for we say in English : « Where there
is no accuser, there will never be a judge ». Important issues, in
order to be examined, need a forum. Since normal academic forums are
usually barred or denied to certain subjects, courtrooms are a
substitute - a poor one but, still, they are a forum nevertheless.

I was fortunate to have understood that early enough. And I was even
more fortunate in [having lived] in an Anglo-Saxon legal system
dominated Canada, [in a country where] enough of the old Anglo-Saxon
legal traditions still existed but were under assault even then by
the graduates of Marxist dominated universities and law schools.

Thus, in the beginning I was the beneficiary of fortunate cultural
circumstances. I understood those trends - that's why I was so
furious at Mrs. Marshall - in that preliminary hearing in June of
1984, to have not pulled out all stops with that guy Fried, [a
prosecution witness,] for instance, because I realized we would never
get a chance to grill that old German-hater again. He, like Hilberg,
Vrba, Urstein and others are now dead ! WE have their testimonies !

How fortunate I was to have been the instrument, to have especially
found you, and our excentric Ditlieb, to have found a man with the
courage of Christie - and the quiet dedication of Keltie and Barbara !

If ever there was a DREAM-TEAM, we were it !

We have a good library [in prison] with surprisingly interesting
books on esoteric and historical topics I did not have the time to
study in Canada. Here I read at least one or two books a week. (S)

German court rejects far-right activist Zundel's appeal against
incitement conviction

BERLIN: A German federal court said Monday that it has rejected an
appeal by far-right activist Ernst Zundel against his incitement
conviction for denying the Holocaust, which resulted in a five-year
prison sentence.

Zundel, who was deported from Canada in 2005, was convicted by a
Mannheim court in February on 14 counts of incitement for years of
anti-Semitic activities, including denying the Holocaust - a crime in
Germany - in documents and on the Internet.

The court handed him the maximum five-year sentence.

The Federal Court of Justice said it had thrown out Zundel's appeal
in a Sept. 12 ruling.

In a statement, the court also said that judges in Mannheim were
right not to deduct time Zundel served in pre-deportation custody in
Canada from his sentence. It said that was not formal
"pre-extradition detention for the criminal proceedings here."

Zundel and his supporters have argued that he was a peaceful
campaigner being denied his right to free speech. As well as Canada,
Zundel has in the past lived in the U.S. state of Tennessee.

Members of the National Socialist Movement of Workers, a group active in Milan, Varese, Como and Lecco, were targeted by Italian authorities for the crime of distributing literature criticizing the Italian political system and the influence of Jews over the Italian government. In most of Europe, it is illegal to discuss or criticize Jews and illegal to criticize or suggest a change in the political systems that Jews have imposed on Europe's white population.

World’s Non-Whites Demand Even More Money from Whites

The United Nations General Assembly has adopted a non-binding declaration on the rights of “indigenous peoples” (i.e. non-Whites) after 22 years of debate.

The document proposes protections for the “human rights of native peoples,” and for their land and resources. It passed despite opposition from Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States. They said it was incompatible with their own laws.

The Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples calls on countries to give more control to tribal peoples over the land and resources they traditionally possessed, and to return confiscated territory, or pay compensation.

The General Assembly passed it, with 143 countries voting in favor and 11 abstaining. Four nations - Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States - each with large “indigenous populations,” voted against.

Australia said it could not allow tribes' customary law to be given precedence over national law. "There should only be one law for all Australians and we should not enshrine in law practices that are not acceptable in the modern world," said Indigenous Affairs Minister Mal Brough.

A leader of a group representing Canada's native communities criticised his government's decision to oppose the declaration. "We're very disappointed... It's about the human rights of indigenous peoples throughout the world. It's an important symbol," said Phil Fontaine, leader of the Assembly of First Nations.

Campaign group Survival International says Canada's Innu tribe, who live in the frozen Labrador-Quebec peninsula, are struggling to maintain their traditional lifestyle as the government allows mining concessions, hydro-electric power schemes, and roads on their land.

The Canadian government said it supported the "spirit" of the declaration, but could not support it because it "contains provisions that are fundamentally incompatible with Canada's constitutional framework."

"It also does not recognise Canada's need to balance indigenous rights to lands and resources with the rights of others," a joint statement from the Canadian ministries of Indian and Foreign Affairs said. Canada has 1.3 million indigenous people, among a total population of 32.7 million.

Europe's first Islamic Political Party Formed in Finland

Negro Gang Violence Spreading in North Carolina

The party in Salisbury, N.C., ended when a group of teenage Negroes shouted the name of their gang over the sound system: “Westside!” Across the dance floor another clutch of Negroes responded in kind: “Eastside!”

As more than 200 partygoers emptied into the parking lot that March night, an argument between the two gangs devolved into a shoot-out. The police arrived to find the crumpled body of a 13-year-old girl, Treasure Feamster, an innocent bystander.

The killing there, 35 miles from Charlotte, has helped rally support in North Carolina for a Los Angeles-style crackdown on gangs.

At least 36 states have passed hard-line laws similar to those pioneered in the 1990s by Los Angeles, and enacted statewide in California. The laws prohibit public gatherings of two or more people suspected of being gang members; establish databases to track gang members; deploy broad sweeps of suspects; and lengthen prison sentences for gang-related crimes.

But even as lawmakers in Raleigh have worked to create a similar gang law, doubts have been raised across the country about the value of the approach.

A growing number of law enforcement officials, including some in Los Angeles, suggest that such aggressive suppression tactics may worsen some gang problems by alienating “whole groups of people” (i.e. non-Whites) from the police and stocking prisons with thousands of young people, many of whom are transformed into hardened gang members while incarcerated.

“L.A. has this approach of being tough on crime,” said Craig Watkins, the district attorney in Dallas, where some Los Angeles-style tactics are being rolled back. “But the result of that is overflowing prisons, high crime rates and increasing numbers of gang members. Now we want to be smart on crime.”

Large-scale arrests have been a key component of Los Angeles’s antigang approach for more than 30 years, said Constance L. Manfred Roeder Arrested in Britain – To be Deported

German dissident and freedom-fighter Manfred Roeder was arrested upon his arrival at Heathrow Airport, Britain, on Monday morning. Although he has committed no offense and is not charged with anything, he was seized under the so-called Prevention of Terrorism Act and will be placed on the first plane back to Germany.

As one of the youngest soldiers in the regular army, Herr Roeder took part in the fighting for the defence of Berlin in 1945. In 1980, some members of the Deutschen Aktionsgruppen ("German Action Groups"), an organization founded by Herr Roeder, attacked buildings housing non-White asylum invaders. Although he himself never took part in these attacks, Herr Roeder was classified as a terrorist by German legal authorities and sentenced to 13 years imprisonment. He was released in 1990, after serving two-thirds of his sentence, for good behavior and “social rehabilitation.”

In 1997, a TV show revealed that in 1995, Herr Roeder had appeared, by invitation, as a speaker at the German military's officer training academy in Hamburg. This scandal, as well as the fact that Roeder had received financial donations from the military, led to the sacking of the academy's commander and the instatement of Counter-Admiral Rudolf Lange as his replacement, with the goal of restoring the good reputation of the academy.

In 1996, Herr Roeder, together with other German nationalists, attacked an exhibition in Erfurt detailing the role of the Wehrmacht in Nazi Germany, for which he was charged with property damage and fined DM-4,500. After being sentenced to prison by the state courts of Schwerin and Rostock under Germany's Volksverhetzung law (incitement to hatred), and for other crimes, he was given a further ten months in September 2004 by the state court of Frankfurt for contempt of the state.

In 1997, Herr Roeder stood as the NPD candidate for Stralsund in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern during the parliamentary elections.

The presence of a “neo-Nazi” gang in Israel has caused outrage in the Israeli press and in government circles, reopening debate over Israel's "Law of Return" that grants automatic citizenship to anyone with at least one Jewish grandparent.

Throughout the 1990s, Israel absorbed over 1 million immigrants from the former Soviet Union, keen to swell the Jewish population out of fears that at some point in the future, the country's Arabs might outnumber its Jewish population.

Israeli officials now concede that more than one in four of those Soviet immigrants were not practicing Jews, and that they included thousands of non-Jews who felt no sympathy for Zionism but saw their claim on Israeli citizenship as a means of escaping the economic ravages of a collapsing Soviet empire.

The eight accused neo-Nazi gang members were all immigrants from the former Soviet Union. Interior Minister Meir Sheetrit on Monday ordered his staff to examine the citizenship papers of the families of the neo-Nazi gang members. "I will not hesitate to revoke their citizenship," Sheetrit said. "It is certain that this phenomenon is the embodiment of anti-Semitism at its nadir."

But the reasons why a teenager might turn against his own tribe may be more complex than a dubious bloodline or a forged ID. Israel in many ways can be a shuttered, exclusive society in which outsiders find it difficult to fit in.

Some of the Soviet immigrants adapted well to Israeli life, and are now among the country's best doctors, classical musicians, star athletes, and army commandos. But for many, the transition to Israel was jarring and disruptive.

Despite their professional credentials, they were only offered low-paying jobs as hospital cleaners and restaurant security guards, the first line of defense against a suicide bomber. Youngsters fell into gangs and crime; police say that in 2003, Russians immigrants accounted for 14% of the country's juvenile crime wave.

Led by Eli Boynatov, 19, nicknamed "Eli the Nazi", the gang vandalized synagogues near Tel Aviv, beat up Ethiopian Jews, gays, drug addicts and ultra-orthodox youth. The fact that they video-taped their savage acts proved to be their undoing. Police raided the suspects' homes and seized one tape in which "Eli the Nazi" says: "My grand-father was a half-Jewboy. I will not have children so that this trash will not be born with even a tiny percent of Jewboy blood." Such remarks chilled Israelis, who wondered how such hatred could have spread un-detected in their midst.

A neo-conservative (abbreviated as neo-con or neocon) is part of a U.S. based political movement rooted in liberal Cold War anticommunism and a backlash to the social liberation movements of the 1960s and 1970s. These liberals drifted toward conservatism: thus they are new (neo) conservatives. They favor an aggressive unilateral U.S. foreign policy. They generally believe that elites protect democracy from mob rule. Sometimes the spelling is "neoconservative."

Neoconservatives, including many Jewish and Catholic intellectuals rooted in Cold War liberalism, clustered around publications such as Public Interest and Commentary and organizations such as the Committee on the Present Danger. They emphasized foreign policy, where they advocated aggressive anticommunism, U.S. global dominance, and international alliances. Although they attacked feminism, gay rights, and multiculturalism, "neocons" often placed less emphasis on social policy issues, and many of them opposed school prayer or a ban on abortion. In addition, many neocons supported limited social welfare programs and nonrestrictive immigration policies." [1]
Inter-Press Service journalist Jim Lobe noted that the development of a common understanding on the definition of neoconservative "can help distinguish them from other parts of the ideological coalition behind the administration's neo-imperialist trajectory". Lobe identifies the main strands as "the traditional Republican Machtpolitikers (Might Makes Right), such as Vice President Dick Cheney and Pentagon chief Donald Rumsfeld, and the Christian Rightists, such as Attorney General John Ashcroft, Gary Bauer, and Pat Robertson."[2]

Writing in 2002 Lobe and Tom Barry argued that"neoconservatives have a profound belief in America1s moral superiority, which facilitates alliances with the Christian Right and other social conservatives. But unlike either core traditionalists of American conservatism or those with isolationist tendencies, neoconservatives are committed internationalists. As they did in the 1970s, the neoconservatives were instrumental in the late 1990s in helping to fuse diverse elements of the right into a unified force based on a new agenda of U.S. supremacy."[3]

The early leaders of the neoconservative movement were Irving Kristol (author of 1983 book Reflections of a Neoconservative) and Norman Podhoretz, both of whom have served as editors of Commentary Magazine, the flagship publication of the American Jewish Committee, a centrist American-Jewish organization. On its webpage Commentary boasts it is known "as the intellectual home of the neoconservative movement" which is "vitally engaged in the preservation and spread of democracy and Western values." [4]

Other magazines include the Weekly Standard, currently edited by William Kristol and owned by Rupert Murdoch. The editorial page of Wall Street Journal can generally be relied upon to promote solidly neoconservative analysis. Irving Kristol also founded The National Interest, a journal vying to compete with Foreign Affairs.

Important neoconservatives in American politics include Paul Dundes Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, David Wurmser, William Kristol (son of Irving Kristol), Elliott Abrams (son-in-law to Norman Podhoretz) and Douglas Jay Feith.

Think tanks and organizations closely related to the neoconservatives include American Enterprise Institute, Project for the New American Century and JINSA (Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs).

Many neoconservatives found important positions in the Department of Defense under George W. Bush. They had long argued for a preventive war against Iraq in particular, but also several other Middle Eastern countries (Iran, Syria, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia).

Immediately following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack, they renewed their calls for attack on Iraq. The Bush administration chose to first invade Afghanistan, but the neoconservatives eventually prevailed.

Neo-conservatism has come in for criticism by some from other strands of the conservative movement. The rather disparagingly dubbed "paleo-conservatives" criticise neoconservatives for being too liberal and too internationalist. Writing in The New American, a publication of the John Birch Society, John F. McManus complains that a neo-conservative is "an opponent of Communism but a supporter of socialism and internationalism." McManus complained of a 1993 article in the Wall Street Journal exporessing support for aspecst of the welfare system. "These neocons have taken over the conservative wing of the Republican party. And they have succeeded in doing so to the degree that the word 'conservative' is now being applied to individuals and ideas that are, in fact, liberal (in the leftist sense), socialist, and totally undeserving of the conservative label," he complained.[5]

Right-wing ideologue Joseph Sobran echoed these sentiments complaining that "As a powerful movement, conservatism also attracted new members who were more interested in power than in principle. Some of these were called “neoconservatives” — admirers of Roosevelt and recent supporters of Lyndon Johnson who cared nothing for limited government and the U.S. Constitution." [6]

Surrender Should Not Be an Option

Faced with dwindling support of the Iraq War, the warhawks are redoubling their efforts. They imply we are in Iraq attacking those who attacked us, and yet this is not the case. As we know, Saddam Hussein, though not a particularly savory character, had nothing to do with 9/11. The neo-cons claim surrender should not be an option. In the same breath they claim we were attacked because of our freedoms. Why then, are they so anxious to surrender our freedoms with legislation like the Patriot Act, a repeal of our 4th amendment rights, executive orders, and presidential signing statements? With politicians like these, who needs terrorists? Do they think if we destroy our freedoms for the terrorists they will no longer have a reason to attack us? This seems the epitome of cowardice coming from those who claim a monopoly on patriotic courage.

In any case, we have achieved the goals specified in the initial authorization. Saddam Hussein has been removed. An elected government is now in place in Iraq that meets with US approval. The only weapon of mass destruction in Iraq is our military presence. Why are we still over there? Conventional wisdom would dictate that when the "mission is accomplished", the victor goes home, and that is not considered a retreat.

They claim progress is being made and we are fighting a winnable war, but this is not a view connected with reality. We can't be sure when we kill someone over there if they were truly an insurgent or an innocent Iraqi civilian. There are as many as 650,000 deaths since the war began. The anger we incite by killing innocents creates more new insurgents than our bullets can keep up with. There are no measurable goals to be achieved at this point.

The best congressional leadership can come up with is the concept of strategic redeployment, or moving our troops around, possibly into Saudi Arabia or even, alarmingly enough, into Iran. Rather than ending this war, we could be starting another one.

The American people voted for a humble foreign policy in 2000. They voted for an end to the war in 2006. Instead of recognizing the wisdom and desire of the voters, they are chided as cowards, unwilling to defend themselves. Americans are fiercely willing to defend themselves. However, we have no stomach for indiscriminate bombing in foreign lands when our actual attackers either killed themselves on 9/11 or are still at large somewhere in a country that is neither Iraq nor Iran. Defense of our homeland is one thing. Offensive tactics overseas are quite another. Worse yet, when our newly minted enemies find their way over here, where will our troops be to defend us?

The American people have NOT gotten the government they deserve. They asked for a stronger America and peace through nonintervention, yet we have a government of deceit, inaction and one that puts us in grave danger on the international front. The American People deserve much better than this. They deserve foreign and domestic policy that doesn't require they surrender their liberties.

White people 'a minority by 2027'

A team of demographers from Manchester University has claimed that the number of white people living in Birmingham will be overtaken by the number of those with other ethnic origins by 2027.

The news came as it emerged that 35 towns and cities in Britain have at least one ward which is "minority white".

And experts have already forecast that Leicester could become the first city in which white people are a minority in four years' time.

Ludi Simpson, a social statistician at Manchester University, said the Pakistani population in Birmingham was likely to double by 2026, but with two-thirds of this increase due to the relatively younger age profile of Pakistanis, rather than increased immigration.

Dr Simpson said: "The overall picture is one of rapid natural growth plus some immigration, mainly of young spouses.

"Birmingham is likely to become a minority white city in 2027, but a diverse one in which the white population remains more than twice the size of the Pakistani population which is predicted to become one fifth of the district's population by then."
But hopes that different ethnic groups could assimilate into a "common identity" in towns and cities were dismissed by Dr Sullivan as "utopian in quite a dangerous way" and "completely unrealistic".

He added that the suburbs, rather than town and city centres were the "sites of real tension".

"Lack of affordable housing, poor environments and anti-social behaviour are the issues, not ethnic composition nor segregation itself," he said.

Nissa Finney, also from Manchester University, told the Royal Geographical Society's annual conference that 35 towns and cities in Britain had at least one ward which was "minority white". These included Birmingham, Burnley, Slough, Peterborough, Bolton and Derby, as well as Brent, Tower Hamlets, Ealing and Newham within London.

Miss Finney said the increasing proportion of non-whites in these wards was more linked with "natural population dynamics" like moving areas to be nearer family or friends, than with immigration.

She told the conference: "Clustering is the result of benign and natural population dynamics. There is no evidence of self-segregation or exceptional 'white flight'."

Last year, Trevor Phillips, the-then chairman of the Commission for Equality and Human Rights, said that "tough decisions" will have to be made as some more areas become "plural cities" where no one race holds a majority.

Mr Phillips said: "Events across Europe have shown how segregation breeds mistrust and fracture.

"The benefits of plural cities can be great, but we need to look at the future and act responsibly."

The problem isn't racism, it's the tidal wave of immigrants

All right, you know about the Government's latest move to outlaw beggars? Do you really think it's really about beggars? It isn't. It's about immigrant-beggars, who now throng our streets.

We could, of course, deal with the substantive matter, that of immigration itself, but instead we prefer to deal with its symptoms -- and in the usual cowardly way in which we address anything which is a little difficult or embarrassing.

Now look: I'm not a complete fool. People don't turn columnists to read the same stuff, day after day after day. Yet that's what I've been doing, endlessly writing on this same subject.

No doubt by this time, the one reader left is some old wino sitting in a doorway in his own personal pool of warmth, scanning these few column inches in the belief that these are the greyhound results. No matter. Here I go again.

Immigration is now not merely the dominant feature of Irish life, it is the greatest threat to the existence of the Irish nation as a coherent, and cohesive whole.

No country has ever accepted, never mind assimilated, the volumes of foreigners now present in this state. We have some 400,000 legal immigrants; but everyone knows that the army of illegals, especially Africans and Chinese, is vast, and probably tops 200,000. In all, Ireland has received at least 600,000 immigrants, most of them within the past five years. It could be many more. No one has the least idea.

In the US, such immigration would translate into an inward population movement of 45 million. In the UK, the figure would be nine million. Needless to say, neither state would be so idiotic or feckless as allow such vast numbers to enter.

Only Ireland would be so idiotic and so morally lethargic as to allow such massive inward population movements.

And of course, we haven't got the resources to cope with the consequences of such an influx. But worse than our lack of resources, is our lack of courage in confronting the issue.

We do not have policies, but inept evasiveness: and perhaps worst of all, we have a posturing gallery of home-grown jackanapes ready to shriek "racism" wherever and whenever they see that things are not going quite the way that immigrants want.

Thus, on any discussion on RTE, especially from its newsroom, immigrants are never held responsible for choosing to come here. Instead, we hear endless complaints that Irish institutions had not prepared themselves properly for their arrival.

On the News at One on Monday, African after African in Balbriggan complained there were no places for their children in the existing local schools.

Not once was the question posed: what was the real reason for the Africans not having places in schools? Answer: they'd only just come here.

Instead, Africans who were just off the boat were allowed to accuse us of racism for not having school places awaiting their children.

There's also the Paddy- factor in all this. It's impossible for any outsider to understand that this state is almost pathologically incapable of planning anything.

This is the land of the Red Cow Roundabout and motorways without service stations, rest-stops or toilets. So how could we be expected seven years ago to have planned school-building projects in north county Dublin for Africans as yet unborn?

If blaming ourselves for our failure to plan for Africa's educational needs were not fatuous enough, some poor spokeswoman from the Catholic archdiocese of Dublin had to defend the Catholic Church against an RTE journalist's accusations of bigotry.

Naturally, in this unprincipled liberal Ireland, for the Catholic Church to insist that Catholic schools have a primary duty to educate Catholics is nowadays both racist and sectarian.

But of course, no one on RTE would ever dream of proposing that Islamic madrasahs should take in Jewish, Catholic or Hindu pupils: in the new Ireland, the only people who are expected to bend their own rules are the Irish Catholic majority.

Accompanying this presumption is the pious and all-prevalent dogma that immigrants will on arrival abandon ancient loyalties, and will promptly don a Hibernian mantle: hence the brainless cliche, wittered endlessly by journalists and politicians alike, "the New Irish".

Sorry. This is conceited gibberish. Why would a Pole surrender something which the Polish people have fought for a thousand years to retain?

My mother lived most of her life in England, but never for a second thought of herself as English.

KATHMANDU (Reuters) - Officials at Nepal's state-run airline have sacrificed two goats to appease Akash Bhairab, the Hindu sky god, following technical problems with one of its Boeing 757 aircraft, the carrier said Tuesday.

Nepal Airlines, which has two Boeing aircraft, has had to suspend some services in recent weeks due the problem.

The goats were sacrificed in front of the troublesome aircraft Sunday at Nepal's only international airport in Kathmandu in accordance with Hindu traditions, an official said.

"The snag in the plane has now been fixed and the aircraft has resumed its flights," said Raju K.C., a senior airline official, without explaining what the problem had been.

Local media last week blamed the company's woes on an electrical fault. The carrier runs international flights to five cities in Asia.

It is common in Nepal to sacrifice animals like goats and buffaloes to appease different Hindu deities.

JERUSALEM, Sept. 5 — It was one of Israel’s dirty little secrets. In the early 1960s, as Israelis were being exposed for the first time to the shocking testimonies of Holocaust survivors at the trial of Adolf Eichmann, a series of pornographic pocket books called Stalags, based on Nazi themes, became best sellers throughout the land.
Read under the table by a generation of pubescent Israelis, often the children of survivors, the Stalags were named for the World War II prisoner-of-war camps in which they were set. The books told perverse tales of captured American or British pilots being abused by sadistic female SS officers outfitted with whips and boots. The plot usually ended with the male protagonists taking revenge, by raping and killing their tormentors.

After decades in dusty back rooms and closets, the Stalags, a peculiar Hebrew concoction of Nazism, sex and violence, are re-emerging in the public eye. And with them comes a rekindled debate on the cultural representation here of Nazism and the Holocaust, and whether they have been unduly mixed in with a kind of sexual perversion and voyeurism that has permeated even the school curriculum.

“I realized that the first Holocaust pictures I saw, as one who grew up here, were of naked women,” said Ari Libsker, whose documentary film “Stalags: Holocaust and Pornography in Israel” had its premiere at the Jerusalem Film Festival in July and is to be broadcast in October and shown in movie theaters. “We were in elementary school,” he noted. “I remember how embarrassed we were.”

Hanna Yablonka, a professor of history at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, says the film highlights what she calls the “yellow aspects of nurturing the memory of the Holocaust.”

“Are we taking it into the realm of semipornography?” she asked. “The answer is, we are.”

The Stalags were practically the only pornography available in the Israeli society of the early 1960s, which was almost puritanical. They faded out almost as suddenly as they had appeared. Two years after the first edition was snatched up from kiosks around the central bus station in Tel Aviv, an Israeli court found the publishers guilty of disseminating pornography. The most famous Stalag, “I Was Colonel Schultz’s Private Bitch,” was deemed to have crossed all the lines of acceptability, prompting the police to try to hunt every copy down.

The Stalags went out of print and underground, circulating in specialty secondhand bookstores and among furtive groups of collectors.

Mr. Libsker’s 60-minute documentary puts the Stalags under a spotlight for the first time and exposes some uncomfortable truths. One is that the Stalags were a distinctly Israeli genre, created by Israeli publishers and penned by Israeli authors, although they had masqueraded as translations from English and were written in the first person as if they were genuine memoirs.

Until the Eichmann trial began in 1961, the voices of the Holocaust had hardly been heard in Israel. The survivors sensed the ambivalence of the old-timers who blamed them for not having emigrated in time, and questioned what immoral deeds they might have done in order to stay alive.

In the movie, the publisher of the first Stalag, Ezra Narkis, acknowledges that it was the trial, in all its sensational and often gory detail, that gave momentum to the genre.

More provocatively, the movie contends that Stalag pornography was but a popular extension of the writings of K. Tzetnik, the first author to tell the story of Auschwitz in Hebrew and a hero of the mainstream Holocaust literary canon. K. Tzetnik “opened the door,” and “the Stalag writers learned a lot from him,” Mr. Narkis said.

K. Tzetnik was a pseudonym for Yehiel Feiner De-Nur. The alias, short for the German for concentration camper, was meant to represent all survivors, a kind of Holocaust everyman. One of K. Tzetnik’s biggest literary successes, “Doll’s House,” published in 1953, told the story of a character purporting to be the author’s sister, serving the SS as a sex slave in Block 24, the notorious Pleasure Block in Auschwitz.

Though a Holocaust classic, many scholars now describe it as pornographic and likely made up.

"It was fiction," said Na'ama Shik, a researcher at Yad Vashem, The Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Authority. "There were no Jewish whores in Auschwitz."

Yet “Doll’s House” and other writings of K. Tzetnik, who died in 2001, are treated as historical fact by many in Israel, and are included in the high school curriculum. Mr. Libsker’s movie shows the vice principal of an Israeli school guiding a group of teenagers through Auschwitz, pointing out Block 24 and quoting from K. Tzetnik.

This approach to Holocaust education is being eschewed by an increasing number of Israeli academics. “The Holocaust was bad enough, without making things up,” Dr. Yablonka said.

Sidra Ezrahi, a professor of comparative Jewish literature at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, said, “His books were so graphic and so barbaric.” Maybe at first they had an important impact, she said. “But over time,” she added, “if this is what they have chosen to leave in the Israeli curriculum, it’s a scandal.”

For many Israelis, the most dramatic part of the Eichmann trial was the testimony of K. Tzetnik. His true identity was revealed for the first time on the witness stand, where he passed out. Simultaneously, the Stalags were reaching the peak of their commercial success.

Yechiel Szeintuch, a professor of Yiddish literature at the Hebrew University, rejects any link between the smutty Stalags and the writings of K. Tzetnik as “an original sin.” He insists K. Tzetnik’s work was based on reality.

But Mr. Libsker, 35, himself the grandson of Holocaust survivors, contends that it is the same mixture of “horror, sadism and pornography” that serves to perpetuate the memory of the Holocaust in the Israeli consciousness to this day.

JERUSALEM (AP) - In a case that would seem unthinkable in the Jewish state, police said Sunday they have cracked a cell of young Israeli neo-Nazis accused in a string of attacks on foreign workers, religious Jews, drug addicts and gays.

Eight immigrants from the former Soviet Union have been arrested in recent days in connection with at least 15 attacks, and a ninth fled the country, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said, in the first such known cell to be discovered in Israel.

All the suspects are in their late teens or early 20s and have Israeli citizenship, Rosenfeld said. A court decided Sunday to keep them in custody.

``The level of violence was outrageous,'' Maj. Revital Almog, who investigated the case, told Israel's Army Radio.

Gang members were arrested in recent days, and a gag order on the case was lifted early Sunday.

News of the arrests came as a shock in Israel, which was founded nearly 60 years ago as a refuge for Jews in the wake of the Nazi Holocaust and remains a most sensitive subject. Any forms of anti-Semitism around the world outrage Israelis, and the discovery of such violence in the country's midst made the front pages of newspapers and dominated talk on morning radio shows.

The gang documented its activities on film and in photographs. Israeli TV stations showed grainy footage of people lying helpless on floors while several people kicked them, and of a man getting hit from behind on the head with an empty bottle.

Police found knives, spiked balls, explosives and other weapons in the suspects' possession, Rosenfeld said. One photo that was seized showed one suspect holding an M16 rifle in one hand and in the other, a sign reading ``Heil Hitler,'' he added.

Police discovered the skinhead ring after investigating the desecration of two synagogues that were sprayed with swastikas in the central Israeli city of Petah Tikva more than a year ago, Rosenfeld said.

Police computer experts have determined they maintained contacts with neo-Nazi groups abroad, and materials seized include a German-language video about neo-Nazis in the U.S.

San Jose, Calif. — San Jose police released details Monday afternoon of a brutal slaying of a six-year-old boy.

Police told NBC the boy, Oscar Jiminez, was beaten to death by his mother's boyfriend in February.

Police said the couple then took the boy's body to Phoenix and buried it in the courtyard of an abandoned apartment complex.

The couple covered the boy's remains with concrete, according to police.

The two suspects in the case are the boy's mother Katherine Jiminez and her boyfriend Samuel Corona, NBC11's Daniel Garza reported.

Corona is in custody in Arizona and will be extradited back to San Jose soon police said.

Police said Corona beat the boy over something he said to his one-year-old son who was visiting their home in San Jose on Haze Street.

San Jose Police Chief Rob Davis spoke at a Monday afternoon news conference. He was very emotional as he told reporters about the slaying, NBC11 reported.

The death of Jiminez came to light recently when Katherine Jiminez was asked in court where her son was and she said he was dead.

The couple covered the boy's remains with concrete, according to police.

This is San Jose's 19th homicide victim of the year, police said Monday.

Russia tests 'father of all bombs'

Moscow, Sept. 12 (PTI): Russia has tested the world's most powerful non-nuclear vacuum bomb, the military said, dubbing it the "father of all bombs".

Russia's 'ORT First Channel' TV yesterday showed a strategic bomber dropping the vacuum bomb over a testing ground, which exploded in a massive fireball. Pictures of crumpled multi-storey apartment blocks were also broadcast.

"Test results of the new airborne weapon have shown that its efficiency and power is commensurate with a nuclear weapon," Russian Deputy Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Alexander Rushkin told the channel.

According to General Rushkin, the new bomb is smaller than the United States "mother of all bombs" but much deadlier because, due to nanotechnology, the temperature at the epicentre of the blast is twice as high.

"You will see it in action, the bomb which has no match in the world... Despite its destructive qualities, the vacuum bomb is environmentally friendly," he claimed. The same report was later shown on state sponsored 'Vesti' channel.

Though there was no independent verification of the Armed Forces' claim, the new bomb is further proof that the country's military is regaining its technological edge which might facilitate the escalation of the new Cold War. Moreover, the testing came weeks after President Vladimir Putin had revived the Cold War era practice of flying bombers on long range patrols.

Recently, Russian Tupolev bombers had approached British airspace for the fourth time in two months and sorties were also flown close to US military installations.

The Pope accepted the resignation of Zimbabwe's archbishop, Pius Ncube, yesterday after the cleric was filmed by Robert Mugabe's secret police apparently having sex with a church secretary.
Pius Ncube said he quit to "protect the church" but that he will remain a bishop in Zimbabwe and keep speaking out against the abuses of what he has previously called Mr Mugabe's "racist, corrupt and lawless" rule.

He also said that he would fight a lawsuit by the husband of the woman implicated in the affair who is demanding 20bn Zimbabwe dollars (£80,000) as compensation for adultery.

The sting, in which a camera was planted in the ceiling of the archbishop's bedroom, was widely seen as a move by Mr Mugabe to silence his most strident critic who has described the Zimbabwean leader as a megalomaniac and called on Christians to pray for him to die.
The former archbishop has not directly denied the alleged affair. Pictures of a man believed to be Pius Ncube climbing naked on top of a woman were printed in the state-run press, which described them as coming from "the archbishop's love nest".

Video of the former archbishop apparently having sex was shown on Zimbabwean television several nights in a row.

In a statement yesterday, Mr Ncube said he tendered his resignation to the Pope in July within days of "what was obviously a state-driven, vicious attack not just on myself, but by proxy on the Catholic church in Zimbabwe".

"It is my feeling that I should face this case in court as Pius Ncube, an individual, not that the holy Catholic church of God should seem to be on trial because I am its head," he said.

The Vatican said in a one-sentence statement that Pope Benedict had accepted the archbishop's resignation under an article of church law concerning clergy who are unable to perform their duties for health reasons. It has also been used to remove clerics who brought their office into disrepute.

Mr Ncube said he will "continue to speak out on the issues that sadly become more acute by the day".

"I have not been silenced by the crude machinations of a wicked regime," he said. However, almost nothing has been heard from him since the allegations surfaced and there is little doubt that the power of his criticism will have been greatly diminished by the episode.

"I know that there will be many of you who will be bitterly disappointed at my leaving my post as archbishop of Bulawayo - and a few who will be delighted, seeing their mission as having been accomplished," he said.

Labour's latest equality law will deprive Christians of the right of free speech, the Church of England has warned.

The Single Equality Bill could force vicars to conduct weddings for sex-change brides, deprive Christians of the right to oppose homosexuality and make church schools promote gay lifestyles in lessons, said the Archbishops' Council.

Church charities may also be barred from saying grace before meals or displaying crucifixes, it claimed.

The CofE document - endorsed by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams - warned that the Bill attempts to suppress freedom of speech and "amounts to an enforced secularism that fails to respect religious belief at all".

The fierce response is the latest in a series of clashes between religious leaders and the Government over equality rules applying to minority groups whose behaviour Christians have always held as morally wrong.

Churches are already lined up in opposition to the Sexual Orientation Regulations, which came into force earlier this year.

These give homosexuals the right, among others, to sue Christians who refuse to rent church halls to gay organisations.

The Single Equality Bill - which is going through a consultation stage that ends this month - has been advertised as an attempt to simplify 40 years of legislation on race, sex and disability prejudice and gather hugely complex existing law under a single piece of legislation.

Publicity surrounding it has centred on the way it will allow nursing mothers to breastfeed in public.

Other clauses will prevent golf clubs or working men's clubs from giving women second class status.

But the Archbishops' Council, the CofE's ruling Cabinet, said the new law will go much further and have far-reaching effects for large sections of society.

Freedom of speech for Christians could be harmed by clauses strengthening the criminal law of harassment, it warned.

Christian charities and organisations face "a real risk of challenges to the use of religious practices such as grace before meals or religious symbols such as crucifixes".

Rules on harassment also mean that religious followers may not "be able to express the views of their faith about homosexual conduct, including challenging people to live lives consistent with the teaching of the Church".

The document adds: "To deny Christians such a right would amount to unjustified interference with the right to manifest religious belief."

Germany (denial, trivialisation, approval)

On April 14 1994 Germany criminalised Holocaust denial under section
130 (3) of the law against public incitement, a law passed in 1979
which was essentially the evolution of a Communist era war against
the incitement of class warfare. The insertion of the specific law
against denying, trivialising, or - to use the Orwellian text of the
law - 'rendering harmless' the events referred to as the "Holocaust"
came about through the Federal Constituional Court deciding that the
penalisation of "denying of the Holocaust" constituted not a
violation of human rights but a law to protect against those said to
be malicously spreading untrue statements.

The law allows for a prison sentence of up to five years and a fine
of up to 21,600 EUR. Before this, a 1985 law could see a Holocaust
denier imprisoned for up to one year but was dependent upon the
victim lodging a complaint under the terms of a text revision of a
law against defaming the dead, an unconsitutional practice which
continues to this day.

Currently the law allows Germany to prosecute anyone in the world if
they are making the offending material available on a website which
is possible to view in Germany.

Minor offences are heard by one judge and two lay-judges, offences
deemed more serious are heard by 3 judges and 2 lay-judges, neither
procedure utilises a jury.

In its role as EU President for 2007, Germany was partially
successful in enforcing a EU-wide criminal offence of "Holocaust
denial". On April 19 2007 the law was adopted, but with the provision
of member states having the right to decide whether to use it if no
such law existed in their country. It was a controversial measure.
Britian and Denmark opposed the law, and Lithuania opposed the law on
the basis that it would only outlaw the denial of, of course, the
"Holocaust" and also the Rwandan genocide but not the Communist
crimes against humanity.

Austria (denial, gross trivialisation, approval, justification)

The Soviet occupiers of Germany, in an act aimed at preventing the
reforming of the NSDAP (the political party commonly referred to as
the Nazi party) passed the 1947 NS-Prohibitory Law, as part of what
is now termed 'denazification' procedures. Considering the climate at
the time and just how much of a sore on the Earth Stalin was, it's no
surprise that the law allowed for prison sentences of up to ten
years, and in the case of repeat or dangerous offenders twenty years
or in lesser cases a fine of up to 2,200 EUR.

The absolute disgrace is that the Austrians have kept these
ridiculously severe penalties in the text of the law. An amendment of
1992 added "Holocaust denial" under section 3h. Most recently, the
2006 imprisonment of David Irving has created debate over the law but
Irving was also charged under section 3g which accused him of
actually attempting to revitalise the NSDAP itself through his
utterances in 1989 speeches on Austrian soil.

The law's vadility has been challenged in the European Court of Human
Rights who unbelievably did not order it's removal or downscaling.
Cases are heard by a panel of 3 judges and eight jurors.

Switzerland (denial, coarse trivialisation, justification)

In order to join the International Convention on the Elimination of
All Forms of Racial Discrimination, Switzerland had to have a law
against racial discrimination on its books and so hastily passed the
law commonly referred to as the Rassimus Strafnorm in 1995.

In a referendum, 55% of the Swiss parliament opted to include a
clause against genocide denial but in actuality this law has proved
grossly disproportianate in its application. For example, Jurgen Graf
was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment for denying the "Holocaust"
whereas a Turk denying the Armenian genocide was given a 90-day
suspended sentence. It allows for a prison sentence of up to 3 years.
Cases are heard by a district tribunal with a panel of judges.

France (disputing, contesting)

On July 13 1990, the French government opted to make amendments to
the 1881 Freedom of the Press Law which would criminalise "Holocaust
denial" under two different acts.

First, the disputing or contesting of crimes against humanity as
defined by the International Military Tribunal would be punished with
a fine (maximum: 45,000 EUR) or up to one years imprisonment. The law
is commonly referred to as the Fabius-Gayssot Act after two of its
architechts. Like the Austrian law, its legality was challenged in a
European human rights committee but again, unbelievably, ruled as
necessary to counter anti-semitism.

A 2006 political measure, rooted in France's opposition to Turkey
joining the European Union, aimed also explicitly at criminalising
denial of the Armenian genocide, though this measure has been passed
up to the Senate, having cleared the governmental stage. Cases are
heard by a magistrates court.

Belgium (denial, gross trivialisation, approval, justification)

The Negationism Law of March 23, 1995 bans Holocaust denial and
results in prosecution, bizarrely led by a government-run anti-racism
group - the Belgian Centre for Equal Opportunites and Opposition to
Racism. It allows for imprisonment of up to one year and fines of up
to 2,500 EUR.

The bill passed with absolutely no votes against or abstentions, a
full 194 votes in it's favor in the Chamber of Representatives. The
European Court of Human Rights upheld the law's legality in 2003.

In June 2005 there was a brief chance of the law being adopted to
cover the denial of the Rwandan and Armenian genocide, but this was
not approved. Cases are heard by a high court and jury.

Czech Republic & Slovakia (denial, putting in doubt, approval,
justification)

When the two countries came into existence they both inherited
Czechoslovakia's legal code. In 2001 both adopted a measure outlawing
denial of the "Holocaust" and punishing it with up to 3 years
imprisonment.

The law is applied, but not at the same regularity of countries such
as Austria, France and Germany. In December 2005, the Czech
government approved a text revision which similarly outlawed the
denial of communist crimes.

Slovakia's justice ministry proposed the law's removal in 2003 but
the Jewish community protested, resulting in the law been retained
until February 2005 when it was nullified under a postive vote of
108-1 with 19 abstentions.

Israel (denial, diminishing, justification, approval)

The 1986 Prohibition of Holocaust Denial Law was the first worldwide
to criminalize "Holocaust" denial. It allows for sentences of up to
five years. A 2004 amendment allowed for application of the law to
internet sites available in Israel, regardless of where they actually
originate from. Cases are heard by a panel of judges and no jury.

Luxembourg (contesting, trivialisation, justification, denial)

Luxembourg is a small, almost city-sized country, yet it too has a
law against "Holocaust" denial, enacted in 1997. It is a little bit
mediocre in severity compared to, say, Austria and Germany, allowing
for prison sentences of eight days to six months.

It also operates on the basis of the victim lodging a complaint to
begin proceedings akin to the original German law. In 2005
Luxembourg, as EU president, attempted to get all EU-member states to
adopt a law against "Holocaust" denial but was unable to secure
either the UK, Denmark or Italy.

Poland (contradicting contrary to the facts)

On December 18 1998 the Polish government issued the seemingly benign
Act of the Institute of National Remembrance, which began with pages
of burecratic language on what did and didn't define a crime against
humanity and how the crimes would be acknowledged - only to include a
law under Article 55 which would allow for imprisonment of up to 3
years for denial of either communist or national socialist crimes.

A notable (and rare) case was that of Dariusz Ratajczak, acquitted in
1999, since his work was not widely distributed, though the court did
deem it to be "Holocaust" denial.

Romania (negation)

Romaina enabled itself with the criminalization of Holocaust denial
under Emergency Ordinance no.31 of March 2002 with a prison sentence
of up to five years available for Holocaust denial. The law was
highly controversial for not criminalizing denial of communist
crimes, which had greatly affected Romania during the war.

Portugal & Spain (denial, justification)

The laws of Portugal and Spain are often overlooked. This may be
because they are rarely applied and not successful.

Firstly the usual recipitent of the wrong end of the Spanish law (Art
607 (3)) has been Pedro Varela, a distributor and publisher of
revisonist material. Initially due to the lack of a law against
genocide denial, he was actually charged with genocide. Thankfully
this was re-adressed, but not so thankfully, Varela was imprisoned
for two years but appealed and had his sentence revoked by a tribunal
who deemed the law unconstitional.

The Constituional Court upheld the law and Varela was last arrested
in April 2006.

The Portugeese law is different from most Holocaust denial laws in
that it stipulates 'denying war crimes and crimes against peace or
humanity' as a factor to be considered in prosecution of cases of
incitement to racial hatred. Cases are heard, without jury, by a
district court judge.

Nearly, not quite... Italy -

On February 15, 2007 the Italian government approved a draft law
imposing jail terms for racist or ethnically motivated crimes but
rejected a specific Holocaust denial law, proposed by Justice
Clemente Mastella, which would have passed into law a prison sentence
of up to four years.

The Netherlands -

On June 10, 2006 Leon Meijer (Christian Union Party) presented draft
legislation for a law against "denial or glorification of genocide
with the intent to hurt others" and sought to add the law as an
article to already existing legislature against race discrimination
(137c and 137e). The law proposed a maximum prison sentence of one
year but was rejected.

United Kingdom -

A Holocaust denial law was proposed in 1997 and 2001, cleared the
Commons but was thrown out by the House of Lords. The law, if it
could be called as such, was intended as a amendment to the Public
Order Act 1986 which would read: "any words, behaviour or material
which purport to deny the existence of the policy of genocide against
the Jewish people and other similar crimes against humanity committed
by Nazi Germany ("the Holocaust") shall be deemed to be intended to
stir up racial hatred".

A tale of senseless violence

A woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to strangling her four children with her own hands in Elkhart last November, but it was a story about the death of a 62-year-old Vietnamese man that caught my attention and dominated my thoughts Wednesday.
I don’t know if I’ve been desensitized by horrid stories of parents killing children as of late or it’s the blatant disregard for human life displayed by a Chicagoan and all-around idiot that didn’t just cause me to shake my head, but to scratch it as well.

Du Doan, a 62-year-old Vietnamese father of four, who loved fishing about as much as he loved to tend to the flower and vegetable garden at his northwest side home, was fishing at Montrose Harbor early Saturday morning. He was taking in the sunrise with his fellow fishing buddies while hoping to land a salmon or trout – which is what the scenic harbor on Lake Michigan is full of this time of year.

Unfortunately for Doan, a group of five males also decided they’d stop off at Montrose Harbor on their way home from a party and watch the 5:30 a.m. sunrise as well.

But it wasn’t a majestic sunrise on the mind of one of the four – a self-proclaimed member of “Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice” – it was violence, the very thing the anti-racism group supposedly preaches against.

After first picking a fight with another fisherman – who also happened to be Asian – the accused lunged at Doan, pushing him into the water.

Fishermen in the area used nets and poles to try to pull Doan to safety.

But Doan, who did not know how to swim, quickly drowned.

According to his buddies, moments before the deadly attack began, the accused was behaving erratically and had to be restrained following the initial fight.

But he walked away from his group. Seconds later, Doan was in the water.

It’s sad, really, the loss of life. But what’s just as disturbing is the senseless act of violence that led to that death. That violence, although it doesn’t always earn headlines in the Herald-Argus, occurs every day in not only Chicago and other big cities across the country, but in small towns, like La Porte, as well.

The circumstances surrounding the fisherman’s death remind me of a conversation I overheard recently standing in line at a store here in La Porte. A man who appeared to be in his late 30s, early 40s, was describing to the store employee his weekend adventure with another man he seemed to have a disagreement with.

“He came up on me and all,” were the exact words he said, so he took a pipe to the guy.

The man finished the story, “I told you man don’t come up on me” then walked out the door snickering.

Big man, little brain.

I exchanged stories with the guy behind the counter, reliving that memorable fight back in elementary school when the class bully tripped me while playing baseball, so I smacked him with the blue plastic Dodger’s helmet I got for being one of the first 10,000 kids or so to show up at the Cubs game during the summer before.

I had to stand up against the wall for the rest of recess, which was a punishment – that, and the threat of telling my mom – that actually deterred me from acting every time the urge to punch someone crossed my mind throughout my teen years.

The man behind the counter concurred, saying that he, too, had managed to live some 30-plus years without any serious confrontation.

It was good to hear.

And I don’t think we’re in the minority, either. I think most men, when you take away the harmless scraps from their teenage years, manage to live their lives relatively violence free.

Doan, on the other hand, ran into one of the few that did not.

I’d like to talk to the accused parents, maybe ask them what went wrong -- from where does this anger stem.

I’d like to talk to the mother of the guy at the store the other day, ask her if she knew she raised a son that found it necessary to hit another man with a pipe because he “come up on him,” then laugh about it while you share the story with perfect strangers.

I’d like to sit down and talk to him directly, without the threat of violence, and explain how ignorant he sounded, how ignorant he acted.

Maybe even tell him the story of Du Doan.

But somehow I doubt that will make much of a difference.

Racism fears as city school opens for black pupils only

An emergency all-black school is to open in Dublin to cater for the children of African immigrants who have failed to secure places in the overloaded Irish education system.

Mary Hanafin, the Education Minister, said that the problems in the north Dublin suburb of Balbriggan reflected bad planning amid rapid population growth, not racist attitudes at existing schools. She vowed to get the new school integrated with white students as soon as possible.

“I would not like to see a situation developing where it is an all-black school, so it’s something to keep an eye on for next year’s enrolments,” Ms Hanafin said.

However, the head of the organisation providing the new school said that it was a concern because demand was coming from a specific sector of Ireland’s ethnic minority. “Almost all of the people applying appear to be of black skin and that is a worrying phenomenon,” said Paul Rowe, the chief executive of Educate Together, a charity that provides an alternative to faith-based education.

Mr Rowe said that Educate Together was asked to establish the emergency school by the Irish Government’s education department on August 27. Bracken Educate Together National School will open on September 17 with a principal and four classes catering for about 70 children.

A meeting in Balbriggan over the weekend for families who had failed to secure places for their children in Balbriggan’s schools was attended by parents mainly of African origin.

The parents said that they had tried to get their children into local schools but were told that all places had to be reserved by February. Almost all the children are Irish citizens.

But some questioned why white families who had moved into the town this year had managed to overcome the registration deadlines to get their children into schools.

Others complained that Ireland’s school system was discriminating against them on the basis of religion. The law permits schools run by the Roman Catholic Church to discriminate on the basis of whether a prospective student has a certificate confirming that they were baptised into the faith.

Some of the African applicants were Muslim, members of evangelical Protestant denominations or of no religious creed. But Ms Hanafin insisted that schools were doing their best and were not applying racist criteria. The crisis is a symptom of Ireland’s economic boom, where development of new housing has raced ahead of poorly planned infrastructure and services.

More than 25,000 Africans have settled in Ireland since the mid1990s. Most arrived as asylum-seekers and many took advantage of Ireland’s law – unique in Europe – of granting citizenship to parents of any Irish-born child. The provision ended after a referendum in 2004.

Mr Rowe said that this was the second school his charity was opening this month. In the other, in Lucan, another town in the Dublin commuter belt, there were also high numbers of children from ethnic minorities.

Russian Extremism Law Casts Wide Net

MOSCOW (AP) — Among the locals, retired truck driver Pyotr Gagarin says he's known as a man who doesn't mince his words. Now he's known around Russia as a man who called his governor "scum" and wound up accused of extremism.

"It's all a comedy that's being staged to rig elections," he said. "Insult someone, and suddenly you're an extremist?"

Gagarin, 71, who is due in court Tuesday to defend himself against criminal charges, is the latest to be caught up in a widening net of criminal prosecutions being brought in Russia under a newly updated law on extremism.

The government maintains the legislation, first passed in 2002 and amended by parliament in July, is aimed at curbing nationalist groups and slowing a nationwide surge of xenophobic attacks and hate crimes. But many of those who have been targeted are journalists, rights advocates and opposition leaders, including former world chess champion Garry Kasparov.

With just three months remaining before parliamentary elections — and six months before Russians chose a new president — fears have grown that President Vladimir Putin's government is using the legislation as another tool to consolidate its grip on the country's political life.

"This is a very dangerous law that will open the road to mass repression," said Andrei Piontkovsky, a political analyst and member of a liberal political party who faces extremism charges over his book, "Unloved Country," which is critical of the Kremlin.

Among the people and organizations suspected of extremist activity in recent months:

_ A columnist at the business newspaper Vedomosti who has been critical of the Kremlin and who said he was forced by police to sign a document saying he was not a member of an extremist organization;

_ A prominent human rights activist accused of shouting extremist slogans during a protest against what he said was a politically motivated court case;

_ The National Bolshevik Party, a radical group that has teamed up with Kasparov's political organization, and the Russian-Chechen Friendship Society, a rights group fiercely critical of the government's military campaign in Chechnya, both declared extremist organizations by courts.

_ Kasparov, now a leading opposition figure, who was questioned by federal security agents about whether he had made extremist statements in a radio interview and in articles published in his opposition group's newspaper.

The law's broadly worded language gives authorities wide latitude to charge people — or close down organizations for otherwise insignificant violations, critics say.

"In practice, as a tool, it's used randomly," said Alexander Verkhovsky, whose SOVA rights center monitors extremism, hate crime and religious freedoms. "Any group could end up targeted by the law — any group, neo-Nazi, human rights groups, center, left, completely apolitical groups."

Rights groups, including SOVA, have long complained that little has been done to address a surge in hate crime attacks, often targeting dark-skinned migrants from the Caucasus region or former Soviet Central Asia.

Putin has spoken out with increasing frequency about the problem, and many lawmakers cited the rise in ethnically motivated violence in voting for the amendments, which added crimes driven by political, ideological or social hatred to the existing definition of extremism.

More strikingly, however, the law now prohibits media from referring to organizations that were banned as extremist without mentioning the ban, and introduces fines for printers and publishers for disseminating extremist literature and bars those suspected of extremism from running for public office.

In arguing for the legislation, Sergei Abeltsev, a member of Russia's lower house of parliament, said the Bolshevik revolutionaries who seized power in 1917 were essentially extremists — a suggestion that reflects Kremlin fears about a Ukraine-style Orange Revolution, when youth groups helped organize mass protests that overturned a rigged presidential election in 2004 won by a Kremlin-friendly candidate.

"1917 was a tragedy and the lack of a fight against extremism and the liberal policies of the police allowed this exact tragedy to happen," Abeltsev said in comments on Ekho Moskvy radio.

As the Kremlin under Putin has steadily stifled political opposition, leaders in regions have also moved to silence their critics.

Gagarin was one of several hundred people who gathered for a demonstration in January in Orel, a largely agricultural region some 220 miles southwest of Moscow. Demonstrators were angered by high food prices and a lack of jobs, and accused the regional governor of destroying the local economy, he said.

He made no apologies for using a few choice words to criticize the governor — "liar," "scum" and "carrion" among them, but no obscenities. He also called for the administration to be shot.

"I wouldn't have said it if it wasn't the truth," he said. "If he doesn't leave (on his own), then people should throw him out themselves."

Prosecutors in Orel refused to comment on the case and officials in the Orel governor's press office did not answer repeated phone calls. If convicted, Gagarin could be sentenced to up to three years in prison and ordered to pay a fine equal to two years of his pension.

Defense lawyer Lyubov Samoilova said Gagarin spoke in the heat of a political demonstration, where emotions were high. She said his calling for the government to be shot, while perhaps unwise, was not taken seriously, otherwise he would have been charged with a more serious offense.

Samoilova also said the fact that the governor and his lawyer did not show up for the first day of hearings last week — forcing the court to reschedule until Tuesday — highlights the precariousness of the case.

"Genuine extremists are going unnoticed. Organized crime groups are going unseen. In order to view a 71-year-old retiree ... as an extremist, you have to be a truly abnormal person," she said.

The militia has been formed, in part, to protect Hungarian nationalists from the current Hungarian government, whose leader's promises to bankrupt the country in subservience to the Jewish-controlled World Bank led to massive rioting and a putsch attempt against the government late last year.

The Jobbik party led the rioting at the heart of last fall's coup attempt and has since grown substantially in power, contesting the "merely far-right" Fidesz party. Jobbik is Hungarian for "better than others" and is a play on words.

The man was not caught and left the store before police arrived afte causing about $10,000 in damage to the Spanish-speaking self-checkout machines the store had installed to help illegal Mexicans steal jobs from white construction workers.

González, CEO of Kimberley-Clark de Mexico, a major Mexican paper and wood product manufacturer, sits on Home Depot's board, and the company is oriented towards the multi-culturalist internationalist vision of the neo-conservative Republicans and the "left-wing" New Democrats. As a result, the company has a radical pro-Mexican poise and has worked hard to attract business from Mexicans illegally stealing American construction jobs.

NEW YORK - Four actors from "Grey's Anatomy," the ABC hit where Isaiah Washington was fired for anti-gay slurs, are featured in a new ad campaign preaching tolerance for gays and lesbians.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation on Tuesday released 25 new public service ads that it will encourage TV networks to air. The ads feature celebrities talking about either the power of anti-gay words or the importance of accepting a gay or lesbian family member.

T.R. Knight, Sara Ramirez and Kate Walsh of "Grey's Anatomy" all made ads. Alexandra Billings, a transgender actress who appeared in one episode of the medical drama, also participated.

Washington wasn't included, although he filmed a separate public service announcement for GLAAD that aired on ABC earlier this year. He was fired from the series for using an anti-gay slur backstage at the Golden Globe Awards in January while denying he had used the word earlier against Knight.

GLAAD didn't specifically seek out "Grey's Anatomy" stars, said Damon Romine, the organization's entertainment media director. It produced the spots at its media awards event in April, and approached celebrities who appeared there to participate, he said.

"Be an ally. Be a friend," tennis star Martina Navratilova says in one of the spots, echoing the campaign's theme.

A handful of cable networks, including the Sundance Channel and Lifetime, have agreed to run the ads and GLAAD will be approaching more to participate, Romine said.

Actors Rachel Griffiths, Marlee Matlin, Rebecca Romijn and Lance Bass are among the 21 other celebrities featured in the ads.

"It is incredibly important to reach out to a wide spectrum of people, to encourage the support and understanding from those who might become our straight allies and also to dispel the damaging, false myths and unfounded fears propagated by bigots and zealots," said former pro basketball player John Amaechi, another participant.

Body: CINCINNATI (Reuters) - U.S. immigration officials raided the Koch
Foods Inc. chicken plant in Fairfield, Ohio, and arrested more than
160 employees as part of a criminal operation against illegal
immigrants, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said on
Tuesday.

"As of 2:45 p.m. (EDT) more than 180 Koch employees have been
identified for further questioning and more than 160 have been
administratively arrested for immigration violations," ICE special
agent in charge Brian Moskowitz told a news conference in Cincinnati.

Added ICE in a statement: "The enforcement actions are part of a two-
year, ongoing ICE investigation based on evidence that Koch Foods
may have knowingly hired illegal aliens at its poultry processing
and packaging facility."

The raid at Koch Foods, which produces chicken for export, food
service and retail markets, began at 10 a.m.

ICE spokesman Greg Palmore said simultaneous search warrants were
executed at Koch Foods in Cincinnati and at the Koch headquarters in
Chicago.

Calls to Koch Foods, based in the Chicago suburb of Park Ridge,
Illinois, were unanswered.

Tim Bachman, development services director for the city of
Fairfield, said the plant near Cincinnati employs about 500 workers.

The raid on Koch was the latest in a series of immigration raids
targeting businesses employing illegal workers across the United
States. Many U.S. meat industry workers are immigrants, mainly
Hispanics.

In December 2006, hundreds of employees were detained in raids at
Swift & Co. meat plants in six states, part of a probe into identity
theft involving illegal immigrants.

Deputies in the Butler County, Ohio, sheriff's office were assisting
federal immigration agents with the Koch raid and may provide
detention facilities if required, a sheriff's office spokesman said.

Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones has been one of the country's
most outspoken opponents of illegal immigration and has lobbied
Washington for better enforcement and deportation of undocumented
workers.

Migrants fleeing as hiring law nears

Undocumented immigrants are starting to leave Arizona because of the new employer-sanctions law.

The state's strong economy has been a magnet for illegal immigrants for years. But a growing number are pulling up stakes out of fear they will be jobless come Jan. 1, when the law takes effect. The departures are drawing cheers from immigration hard-liners and alarm from business owners already seeing a drop in sales.

It's impossible to count how many undocumented immigrants have fled because of the new law. But based on interviews with undocumented immigrants, immigrant advocates, community leaders and real-estate agents, at least several hundred have left since Democratic Gov. Janet Napolitano signed the bill on July 2. There are an estimated 500,000 illegal immigrants in Arizona. advertisement

Some are moving to other states, where they think they will have an easier time getting jobs. Others are returning to Mexico, selling their effects and putting their houses on the market.

The number departing is expected to mushroom as the Jan. 1 deadline draws closer. After that, the law will require employers to verify the employment eligibility of their workers through a federal database.

"I would say we are losing at least 100 people a day," said Elias Bermudez, founder of Immigrants Without Borders and host of a daily talk-radio program aimed at undocumented immigrants.

Immigration hard-liners say the exodus is a sign the employer-sanctions law is working, even before it becomes official. The law is aimed at shutting off the job magnet by imposing harsh penalties on employers caught knowingly hiring unauthorized workers. Violators face a 10-day suspension of their business license for a first offense and could lose their license for a second offense.

"This is exactly what it is supposed to do. (Illegal immigrants) have no business being here, none," said Rep. Russell Pearce, R-Mesa, the main architect of the employer-sanctions law. "Shut off the lights, and the crowd will go home. I hope they will all self-deport."

The ripple effect

Immigrant advocates, business groups and analysts say the exodus is having a ripple effect that could add to an already-tight labor market and dampen the state's economy.

"Nobody is going to be untouched by the ramifications of this law," said Ann Seiden, spokeswoman for the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The chamber is one of a dozen business groups that have filed a lawsuit seeking to block the law on the grounds that it is unconstitutional.

Despite a slowdown in job growth, including the immigrant-dependent construction industry, Arizona's labor market remains tight with just a 3.7 percent unemployment rate in July, according to the state Department of Economic Security. An unemployment rate below 5 percent is considered full employment, meaning anyone who wants a job can have one and employers must compete for workers.

Illegal workers leaving the state could make the labor market tighter, which could lead to higher wages but also higher costs for goods and services, said Don Wehbey, the department's senior economist.

Analysts say it's too early to measure the effect the employer-sanctions law is having on the economy. But it could be severe if a large number of undocumented immigrants leave the state.

"If these workers leave, it's going to hurt the economy and put the state at an economic disadvantage with other states," said Judith Gans, program manager for immigration policy at the University of Arizona's Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy.

A study released by the center in July concluded that economic output would drop annually by at least $29 billion, or 8.2 percent, if all non-citizens, which include undocumented workers, were removed from Arizona's workforce. About 14 percent of the state's 2.6 million workers are foreign-born, and about two-thirds to three-fourths of non-citizens are undocumented, she said.

Several key industries in Arizona, including construction, manufacturing and agriculture, depend heavily on immigrants, legal and illegal, to fill gaps in the workforce, especially in low-skill jobs, she said.

The labor shortages are due to a native-born population that is aging and more highly educated and therefore doesn't produce enough low-skilled workers to meet growing demand. As a result, immigrants are doing jobs that Americans won't do and that Americans aren't available to do, she said.

"The frustration (with illegal immigration) is understandable," Gans said. But Arizona risks shooting itself in the foot "when it tries to take matters into its own hands."

Pearce doesn't buy that. He believes the state can easily do without undocumented workers. Although there may be some short-term economic disruptions, the free market will adjust in the long run, he said.

"Whatever adjustment takes place in the market, it will be worth it," Pearce said.

Sen. Robert Burns, a Peoria Republican who helped craft the employer-sanctions law, said what's also needed are more channels for immigrants to enter legally.

But only the federal government can do that, and Congress failed to pass immigration reform. Meanwhile, the state was forced to take action because people are "fed up with illegal immigration," he said.

"I wouldn't wish hardship on anybody and I don't want the economy to go south, but maybe we need a jolt to show people what's going on," Burns said.

Looking to leave

Abel Ledezma, a 31-year-old telephone technician from Chihuahua state in Mexico, has a work permit, but his fiancee, Cecy, a waitress, is undocumented. Ledezma put his house on the market in July after the governor signed the law. The two plan to move to Albuquerque, which Ledezma thinks is more welcoming of immigrants, legal and illegal.

"I feel like the people's attitudes towards not only immigrants but also Hispanics has become very rude" in Arizona, Ledezma said.

For example, Ledezma said, a man recently slammed the door in his face when Ledezma arrived to fix his phone.

"He said to me, 'Speak to me in English,' " Ledezma said. Ledezma speaks fluent English, though with an accent.

Adrian, a 34-year-old undocumented immigrant from Sonora, plans to move back to Mexico as soon as he can sell a 2-acre tract he owns in Tonopah.

"Yes, we are desperate to leave the moment I sell my property," said Adrian, who rents a house in Goodyear. He asked that his last name not be used because of his immigration status.

Adrian said his sister also is selling her house with plans to return to Mexico. He knows other undocumented immigrants who are refinancing their houses and getting cash out so they can return right away rather than waiting for their houses to sell.

Adrian said he plans to use the profits from the sale of his property to open some sort of business in Rocky Point, a booming beach resort in Sonora. He also is considering moving to Canada, where he heard jobs are plentiful and getting a work visa is easier than in the U.S., where Adrian has been unable to legalize his status in 13 years.

Adrian, a foreman for a major Valley homebuilder, was planning to construct a house for his wife and three U.S.-born children in Tonopah. But with the employer-sanctions law about to take effect, he is afraid he could lose his job any day: He works with fake documents, something Adrian said his employer suspects. Finding another job will be that much harder once the law's verification requirements kick in.

"There is a lot of uncertainty," Adrian said. "I supervise five workers, and the boss told us they are going to be checking the documents of each worker. If the papers are no good, they are going to get rid of those workers."

Impact on housing

Adrian has been calling his real-estate agent every day to see if there are any potential buyers for his property.

But Guadalupe Sosa, the agent, said this is a bad time to be selling. Undocumented immigrants are putting their homes up for sale when there is already an abundance of houses on the market, adding to a glut. Mortgage defaults and foreclosure also are rising.

In July, the Arizona Regional Multiple Listing Service listed 52,336 homes for sale in the Valley, up 17 percent from a year earlier. The average time on the market for houses sold in July was 95 days, compared with 65 days a year earlier.

What's more, Sosa said, many immigrants are not buying homes because they are worried about losing their jobs under the law. That has made it even harder to sell homes in immigrant neighborhoods.

She pointed to three of her West Valley listings that are owned by illegal immigrants who want to leave Arizona.

One was a brick four-bedroom selling for $167,000 in the historic district of Avondale. Another was a beige stucco house selling for $210,000 in a new subdivision in southwest Phoenix. One was a blue townhouse selling for $95,000 in west Phoenix.

"A lot of people are selling because of the uncertainty," she said. "They have one or more family members who are undocumented, and without that extra money, they can't make the mortgage."

Other areas of the economy also are taking a hit because of the employer-sanctions law.

Rosa Macias, vice president of Muebleria Del Sol, said projected sales are down 30 percent since the governor signed the law. The Phoenix-based furniture business has five Valley stores, and 85 percent of its customers are Latino immigrants. She said immigrants aren't buying because they are worried about losing their jobs or already have been let go.

"We have been noticing sales are really, really low," she said.

The drop in sales forced the company to lay off 10 of its 75 employees, Macias said. Macias is also telling suppliers not to deliver more inventory until sales pick up.

"I am very worried," she said.

But when some Houston Independent School District police distributed a book about Ebonics, it is considered “offensive” and “racist.” The media states it doesn’t know if it was a joke or not, but it doesn’t matter.

A television station reports states that it “targets” African-“Americans.” Would a book on Spanish “target” Mexican-“American” students?

Some entries supposedly from the book were shown, but one suspects that the public won’t be allowed to see the whole book and judge for itself. There now are probably several versions floating around claiming to be the real one.

It is telling in this Politically Correct age that one can’t tell whether something like this is a joke.

They felt the provincial curriculum was discriminatory because it failed to teach about sexual orientation.

"We're very happy with the course," Corren said. "We think it has a lot of good stuff that teachers and students can learn about and grapple with." Both helped develop the Social Justice curriculum and said the only thing missing is a glossary explaining terms -- such as heterosexism and speciesism -- which are not a part of everyday vocabulary.

Bulgaria's right-wing extremists have had plans to build a self-proclaimed national guard for years. Finally, in March 2006, the former head of the right-wing Bulgarian National Alliance (BGNS) Bojan Rassate founded the so-called "protecting troop" as an extended arm of BGNS.

By its own account, the group wants to promote Bulgarian nationalist interests, as well as increase cooperation with nationalists abroad. The ultra-right movement has proclaimed "socialist nationalism" as its political platform and said it wants to create a united front against globalization, NATO and the European Union.

According to the Bulgarian public prosecutor's office, the organization's goals are unconstitutional. Bulgarian law forbids organizations which practice ethnic, religious or racist agitation and develop paramilitary structures. The office has now taken up an investigation against the guard.

Mexico Blasts U.S. Immigration Policies

MEXICO CITY -- President Felipe Calderon blasted U.S. immigration policies on Sunday and promised to fight harder to protect the rights of Mexicans in the U.S., saying "Mexico does not end at its borders."

The criticism earned Calderon a standing ovation during his first state-of-the nation address.

"We strongly protest the unilateral measures taken by the U.S. Congress and government that have only persecuted and exacerbated the mistreatment of Mexican undocumented workers," he said. "The insensitivity toward those who support the U.S. economy and society has only served as an impetus to reinforce the battle ... for their rights."

He also reached out to the millions of Mexicans living in the United States, many illegally, saying: "Where there is a Mexican, there is Mexico."

Since taking office in December, Calderon has maintained strong ties with the United States, but he has often denounced U.S. immigration policy, including more deportations that have divided many families, sometimes forcing U.S.-born children to build new lives in Mexico.

In one of the most high-profile cases, illegal immigrant Elvira Arellano was deported recently to Mexico after spending a year in a Chicago church to avoid being sent home. Her 8-year-old son Saul, who is a U.S. citizen, flew to Mexico on Friday to be reunited with his mother and said he plans to stay indefinitely, helping her fight to return to the United States.

Calderon addressed the nation Sunday from the National Palace, avoiding a showdown with leftist opposition lawmakers who had vowed to prevent him from making the speech in Congress, as Mexican tradition dictates.

Mexico's Federal Electoral Tribunal declared Calderon the winner of the July 2006 race nearly a year ago, rejecting leftist candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador claims that Calderon's narrow victory was fraudulent.

Calderon's predecessor, Vicente Fox, was also blocked last year from making his state-of-the-nation address in Congress after leftist lawmakers stormed the stage and refused to give him passage. The lawmakers claimed Fox unfairly aided Calderon's win, which Fox denied. Both are members of the conservative National Action Party.

Lopez Obrador refused to recognize Calderon's eventual victory and declared himself leader of a parallel government. But he has largely disappeared from the public eye amid sharp divisions within his leftist Democratic Revolutionary Party.

Calderon, meanwhile, has garnered some of the highest approval ratings in Mexico's history.

He said Sunday that Mexico has created 618,000 new jobs since January and needs to do more to close the giant gap between the rich and the poor. He also promised not to let up in his nationwide crackdown on drug gangs who control large swaths of Mexican territory.

"We can close our eyes to the reality, and because we are afraid or irresponsible, let organized crime take over our streets," he said. "Or we can decide to fight and defeat crime with all the risks and costs that implies."

The Ashdale Ave. Letter Bomber? It's Immigration, Stupid!

Adel Mohammed Arnaout, 37, an immigrant from Lebanon, sent three
individuals letter bombs this summer. Two failed to explode and the
third
caused minor injuries. The perpetrator came to the attention of the
police
and was apprehended with three more bombs in his trunk. In what must be
egregious overkill, the police closed no less than three Toronto
highways to
transport the suspected bombs to the Leslie Street Spit (an uninhabited
long
sand dune stretching into Lake Ontario) so that they could be exploded.

Police Spokesman Deputy Chief Tony Warr on CBC TV went to great length
to
say that the letter bomb sender was "not ideological." His motives were
personal. Yet, at least one of the three victims, Guelph contractor
John
Becker told the Globe and Mail he'd never heard of Arnaout.

Interestingly, Arnaout dwelt in a bizarre rooming house in Toronto's
East
End - home to 30 people and dubbed "the Bombay Bunker" by neighbours
worried
about the steel doors the guarded the entrance. (Guelph Mercury,
September
1, 2007)

The Toronto Star (September 1, 2007) elaborated: "Within hours, police
were
scouring the Ashdale Ave. bungalow, in the Coxwell Ave. and Gerrard St.
E.
area, which neighbours said was sometimes home to up to 30 people at a
time.
'That's definitely a strange house,' said Ashley Hinds, who lives
nearby.

'Most of the residents have a nickname for it, `Bombay Bunker.' It
wasn't
because of the families, it was because of the brick extensions and the
double steel doors in the front, the tiny peep windows with mesh
lining.
Everyone thought something unusual was always happening there, because
people came and went all the time. The illegal extensions were reported
to
authorities, but nothing was done.'

Neighbour Sue Hammond said the house, with two gaping open windows and
surrounded by construction debris, "was conspicuous because of the way
that
the front was built. 'When the doors are shut and the gates are shut,
it
looks like a fortress compared to the homes around it.'

Karrie Peterbaugh, another neighbour, said 'There were so many people
in and
out of that place, it was really hard to keep track.'

It was also difficult to keep track of the construction that always
seemed
to be going on, she added. 'It started out as a small little shack.
They
kept on adding and saying it was for family, and the next thing it was
a
rental unit.'

According to police sources, the investigation into the letter bombs
began
in June when Toronto resident Steven Scott complained to police of
being
repeatedly harassed by a man."

The Star story is interesting because it suggests that - gee, really?
-
the mysterious house was repeatedly given a pass by authorities who
really
had every legit reason to take a close look at the freakish place. Once
again, the pinnacle of multiculturalism backs off confrontation and
some nut
job nearly kills someone. Again.

Here's some of the press coverage. Note that neither the Guelph Mercury
story nor the Toronto Star mentions that the bomber is a Lebanese and
from
his name Mohammed, almost certainly a Moslem.

The CBC TV reports were even more santizied. The main thrust was the
traffic
jam caused the closing of the three highways and the police insistence
that
there was no "ideological" motive behind the letter bomber.

Viewers of the taxpayer-funded propaganda agency were not informed of
the
suspect's name nor his status as an immigrant.

Keep the peasants ignorant about yet another monument to Canada's
failed
immigration policies.

TORONTO -- Improvised explosive devices have been located in a vehicle
in
Toronto. In the interests of public safety, the immediate area has been
cordoned off to people and vehicles. All businesses within the area
have
been closed.

The area is described as Overlea Boulevard & Millwood Drive, Overlea
Boulevard & Don Mills Road and the entire Thorncliffe Park Drive loop.

"We're going to transport the devices from here, down to the Leslie
Street
Spit, where we will be able to work with them and probably there will
have
to have a controlled explosion down there to get rid of the material,"
Deputy Chief Tony Warr told media.

"This is going to require that we shut down the southbound Parkway ...
We
will close any bridge that goes over the Parkway and there will be some
disruption to the traffic. And I would say, within a couple of hours,
we
will have them down to the Leslie Street Spit. After that occurs, then
there
will be some more examination of the car by the experts and once they
have
told us that the car is safe, we will then have the car towed away to
forensic sciences for examination. So we will be a few hours yet. But I
would estimate, within the next three hours, we will have this area
cleared."

Police work in that area may take several hours. Motorists and
pedestrians
are advised to avoid the area until further notice.

The late night arrest of man wanted in connection with letter bombs
that
were delivered to two Toronto homes and another in Guelph led to the
traffic
nightmares.

Adel Arnaut, 37, was arrested at a Thorncliffe Park gas station around
10
p.m. Thursday night. Arnaout, faces three counts of attempted murder,
three
counts of attempt to cause an explosion and one count of possession of
an
explosive material. Arnaout, a landed immigrant, was known to police
but
they would not say whether if he has any previous record.

He appeared in a Scarborough Court Friday morning as police were trying
to
transport a car related to the arrest downtown.

The discovery of the bombs in the car led to a day of high drama in a
city
unused to bomb threats. Officers, unable to safely disassemble the
devices,
decided to explode them on the remote Leslie St. Spit, and shut down
the Don
Valley Parkway's southbound lanes around noon for the convoy
transporting
the explosives.

As helicopters buzzed overhead, more than a dozen vehicles took 90
minutes
to make the journey through leafy residential streets, down the DVP and
along the Leslie St. Spit's rutted dirt tracks to an isolated point of
land
jutting out into Lake Ontario, where the three devices were exploded in
a
ball of black, yellow and white smoke.

Thursday night's dramatic high-risk takedown of the suspect, who police
had
been following, came after the man began acting nervously at the gas
station.

"I was pumping some gas and I went inside to pay for the gas, and there
was
a guy inside who was asking for jumper cables," said Jamal Watson, 23,
who
witnessed the takedown.

"I thought there was something wrong with his car, the way he was
acting -
he was nervous, you could just see it," Watson added. "He kept yelling
`Jumper cables! Do you have any jumper cables?' And the man at the cash
wouldn't answer him."

The suspect, Watson said, "was getting agitated, and he kept going in
and
out of the store, yelling to the shop owner."

That's when Watson noticed two men, who he now realizes were
plainclothes
police officers, following the suspect.

"Two guys who were behind him in line stepped outside, and were waiting
for
him to come out," Watson said. "They were undercover cops, I think. So
as
soon as he stepped out, four guys were on top of him.

"They handcuffed him and yelled at us `Police officers! Police! Just
get
out! Get out! Move out!'"

Not sure of what was happening, Watson heeded the orders, jumped into
his
car and drove off as police were handcuffing the suspect, who was being
held
face-down on the pavement.

The second, real estate lawyer Terrence Reiber, called police Aug. 19
after
noticing a package smelling of a petroleum-type odour at his house in
the
Yonge St.-Sheppard Ave. area ; that device was later detonated by
police.

Both of the packages were bubble-wrapped envelopes, had properly
addressed
courier receipts and contained petroleum-type fluid.

While both packages bore the same courier label, they were not
delivered by
courier, Const. George Schuurman said. "So there's a belief that the
suspect
modified blank courier labels."

A third package, opened by Guelph resident John Becker Aug. 22,
contained a
bomb packed with nails and explosive materials, but the device did not
explode.

July 15, 2002: Andrija Tramsek, a.k.a. Andy Davis, is found guilty of
sending two letter bombs in September 2000.

One of the bombs is detonated by RCMP explosives experts outside the
health
unit in Kelowna, B.C.

The other shoebox-sized bomb injures lawyer Keith Purvin-Good and his
wife
when it explodes in their car.

Nov. 7, 2000: Raymond Neal Best pleads guilty to mailing letter bombs
to an
Edmonton television station and Calgary's police chief in 1999.

An assignment editor and a reporter receive minor injuries when a
parcel
explodes in the A-Channel newsroom. An explosive device is sent through
the
mail to then Calgary police chief Christine Silverberg but is disabled
before it explodes.

March 1997: Warrants are executed for David Nathan Barbarash, a former
member of the Animal Liberation Front and former researcher for the
Toronto
Humane Society, and Darren Todd Thurston in connection with 24 parcels
mailed between May and December, 1995. Four were letter bombs and 20
were
booby-trapped with razor blades.

The targets included a Calgary animal researcher, Holocaust-denier
Ernst
Zundel, and the office of the Mackenzie Institute, a terrorism
think-tank.
Charges are stayed in 2000 when police decide to drop the case rather
than
disclose documents concerning another investigation.

December 1996: Wayne Greavette is killed by a package bomb delivered to
his
Puslinch Township home south of Guelph. The case remains unsolved.

Sept. 7, 1994: North Toronto Councillor Kay Gardner receives a mail
bomb at
her home that was designed to spray metal pellets upon opening.
Gardner's
husband opens the package, but the bomb does not go off.

university math instructor for his political views after pressure from
Richard Warman; persecution by the thought police at the Canadian Human
Rights Commission (on a Warman complaint); raided by Regina "hate cops"

another "hate" complaint from Warman and organized Jewish lobby groups
is a
scandal.

Terry Tremaine, mathdoktor99 on STORMFRONT, is living proof that free
speech is foundering and sick in Canada. Here's a man martyred for the
non-violent expression of his ideas. He deserves the Order of Canada
for his
integrity and courage.

On August 30, he was fired again from his job on the night cleaning
staff at
the Regina Airport. It appears this gentle intellectual is a "security
risk"
as a cleaner. Where have we heard this police state crap before? Oh, I
remember, when the former boss of CSIS, former Solicitor General now
Federal
Judge Pierre Blais, relying on secret evidence from his former CSIS
employees, which his victim never had the opportunity to examine or
challenge, decided that lifelong pacifist Ernst Zundel was a
"terrorist"
and, therefore, a threat to national security.

"I have been working at the airport since January on the night cleaning
staff. I did not request an elevated security clearance (neither the
white
pass to go into the passenger holding area nor the red pass to go into
the
baggage handling area) because I knew, or at least suspected, that it
would
be refused. Bear in mind that I do not have a criminal record nor have
I
ever been charged with a crime. I have been arrested once, on June 8,
at the
time my computer and all software was seized by the Regina City Police.
I
also have the ruling by the CHRT against me but that is a civil matter,
not
a criminal matter. Nevertheless, I suspected that elevated security
clearance would be refused and I decided to delay the request as long
as
possible. Most of the people working for that company at the airport do
not
have either the white or the red pass.

A few days ago the site manager requested that I get the red pass or
at
least the white pass. So, I had to provide my birth certificate ID# as
well
as everywhere that I had lived and worked for the past five years.

Tonight when I went to work I was told by my supervisor that I was not
supposed to be there and that I should not report to work until the
white
pass is processed. I should add that I am on the best of terms with my
co-workers, my supervisor, and the site manager. We went outside to
discuss
the situation since at that point we were all a little confused about
what
was going on. While standing outside we were approached by the night
security officer and I was told he had orders to escort me off the
property.

An incident occurred in a supermarket recently, when the following was

witnessed:

A Muslim woman dressed in a Burkha (A black gown & face mask) was
standing with her shopping in a queue at the checkout.

When it was her turn to be served, and as she reached the cashier,
she
made a loud remark about the English Flag lapel pin, which the female
cashier was wearing on her blouse.

The cashier reached up and touched the pin and said, "Yes, I always
wear it proudly. My son serves abroad with the forces and I wear it for

him".

The Muslim woman then asked the cashier when she was going to stop
bombing and killing her countrymen, explaining that she was Iraqi.
At that point, a Gentleman standing in the queue stepped forward, and
interrupted with a calm and gentle voice, and said to the Iraqi woman:

"Excuse me, but hundreds of thousands of men and women, just like this
ladies son have fought and sacrificed their lives so that people just
like YOU can stand here, in England, which is MY country and allow you
to blatantly accuse an innocent check-out cashier of bombing YOUR
countrymen".

"It is my belief that if you were allowed to be as outspoken as that in

Iraq, which you claim to be YOUR country, then we wouldn't need to be
fighting there today".

"However - now that you have learned how to speak out and criticize the

English people who have afforded you the protection of MY country, I
will gladly pay the cost of a ticket to help you pay your way back to
Iraq".

"When you get there, and if you manage to survive for being as
outspoken as what you are here in England, then you should be able to
help straighten out the mess which YOUR Iraqi countrymen have got you
into in the first place, which appears to be the reason that you have
come to MY country to avoid."

Apparently the queue cheered and applauded.

A Letter to Ernst Zundel from Britain:

This letter will no doubt be opened by the prison authorities who I
trust will be decent enough men to pass it on to you.

My father was in the Royal Air Force during the Second World War and
made many flights over your country. However, one "raid" that he was
fortunately not directly involved with was the one over Dresden on
the night of the 13th/14th February, 1945, that had been deliberately
planned by Churchill and Roosevelt to murder as many men, women,
children and animals as possible.

When news of this holocaust in Dresden started to emerge in Britain
it caused questioning and revulsion amongst the public, and Churchill
tried desperately to deflect responsibility away from himself and
onto others, such as Arthur Harris.

To some extent, although ultimate blame was not to be shouldered by
anyone other than Churchill and Roosevelt (and perhaps Stalin), yet
the servicemen of the British Royal Air Force and of the United
States Air Force who actually loaded the 700,000+ phosphorus
incendiary bombs, those who flew the aircraft, those who navigated to
Dresden, those who manned the radio and those who dropped the
payload, were guilty complicity. "Only following orders" is not a
valid excuse. If those men had spoken out against the barbarity of
Churchill and Roosevelt, and refused to do the work of the Devil for
them, then there would have been no Dresden holocaust.

Those men not only had the opportunity to speak out and refuse to
obey the order to burn fellow human beings to death, but they had a
duty and responsibility to do so. All the terror, the horror, the
screams, the pain, suffered that night in Dresden would not have
occurred but for those men who carried out the unadulterated evil of
Churchill and Roosevelt.

We are each responsible for our actions, and those actions can have
enormous consequences to people far away, and for generations to
come, perhaps for all time.

You are a man who has done nothing except follow your conscience and
speak out for your beliefs, and for this you have been imprisoned and
denied your liberty by the authorities who presently run Germany.
Those authorities were established by those who slaughtered the
innocent of Dresden and who had many Germans murdered by way of the
Nüremberg show trials, to write themselves into history as honourable
men and women, when in fact they were murderers and liars.

Nothing has changed since those dark days of the Second World War, a
war blatantly started by the Talmudists. If anything, things are
worse. Iran is now being vilified with one false flag after another,
just as Germany was in the 1930s, just as Saddam Hussein and Iraq
were, to soften the people up for some horrendous onslaught on Iran,
Syria, Lebanon and anywhere else that the Talmudist banksters have
blackmailed and bribed British, American, Canadian and Australian
politicians for. Just two years ago, Bliar ordered the destruction of
various WWII documents on Churchill, which no doubt would have shed
new light on Churchill's inherent evilness. Despite such subversive

A plan to legalize thousands of illegal immigrant farm workers may have suffered a blow with the recent troubles of Sen. Larry Craig, a key Republican supporter of the legislation.

The Roll Call newspaper reported Monday that Craig pleaded guilty earlier this month to misdemeanor disorderly conduct after he was arrested in June at a Minnesota airport by a plainclothes police officer investigating lewd conduct complaints in a men’s public restroom.

In a statement, Craig denied any wrongdoing and said he regretted the guilty plea.

It is unclear what effect the arrest will have on Craig’s career, but it will likely hurt his clout in Congress.

Craig and Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., are trying to shore up support for the legislation that would allow agricultural workers to obtain legal status.

The bill — known as AgJobs — was part of a major immigration package that failed in the Senate earlier this year. Feinstein and Craig are hoping to pass AgJobs as a separate bill.

GREEN BAY — Devone Doss said he's seen first hand the injustices of the Wisconsin Court System.

Doss, 35, of Green Bay, was found guilty of substantial battery in 2005. He received a $1,500 cash bond while another man charged with sexual assault received a $25,000 signature bond. Doss said he also had an attorney from the state's Public Defender's Office who fell asleep during a court proceeding.

His advice to the Governor's Commission on Reducing Racial Disparities: Get the story from someone who has experienced it.

Stories like his were presented during a public forum hosted by Gov. Jim Doyle's commission Wednesday night at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay's Weidner Center.

The more than 20 people in attendance consisted of district attorneys, police officers, community leaders and a Green Bay City Council member.

Green Bay was the final stop for the commission. Previous hearings were held in Milwaukee, Madison, Racine, Beloit and Wausau.

"This was rich with ideas and reaffirming some of the things that we've heard before," said Madison Police Chief and commission co-chair Noble Wray.

The three-hour forum consisted of personal testimonies and ideas presented to the board to address the gap between minority and white imprisonment.

A state Department of Corrections study showed Wisconsin has the fifth largest gap in the nation and imprisons blacks 10 times the rate of whites.

Blacks make up 6 percent of the state's population, yet account for 45 percent of inmates in the state's correctional system. In Brown County, people of color make up 48 percent of Brown County Jail's population but only 13 percent of the county's population.

The commission's objective is to research the possible causes of the disparities and find possible solutions. Antonio Riley, board member and Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority executive director, said Doyle asked the commission to forward a concrete proposal based on information from the forums by October.

"The solutions have to start with the African-American communities taking responsibility for our conduct and behavior that we continue to engage in that puts us at risk, but we also need the resources made available to us to actually achieve the real impact that we need to have," said Richard Harris, founder of 2nd Lyfe, a crime prevention program.

Harris, 35, served nine years in the Wisconsin prison system and said some programs and lack of programs are also to blame for the disparity.

Some programs, he said, are not effective and do not have measurable outcomes.

However board members said the problem is universal.

Be Xiong, an Asian and Hmong liaison for the Green Bay Police Department, said a misunderstanding in cultures contributes to the gap.

Frank Smith, the co-founder of Dad's Club and a former inmate in the Wisconsin prison system, said it's not just racism but a reluctance to fully accept blacks into the community.

"Racism is all over the world, but I'm talking about right here in Green Bay. We've got to do better."

The superintendent of the central Louisiana school district – where six Black students were charged with beating a White schoolmate – says a t-shirt in support of the student is just too disruptive.

On Tuesday, nine students sported “Free the Jena 6” t-shirts at Jena High School, a racial hornets’ nest where nooses hung on a tree by White youths triggered the December 2006 fight that landed the Black students in jail. When school officials saw the shirts, they insisted that they had to go because they caused too much of an uproar.

They weren't doing anything other than wearing the shirts," said John Jenkins, whose three daughters wore the shirts to stand up for justice, not cause conflict. "The school doesn't have a dress code. They were covered. They're trying to tell them what they can and can't wear."

Jenkins' son, Carwin Jones, is one of the six students charged with the attempted murder of 18-year-old Justin Barker in December 2006.

Mychal Bell, another one of the teens, saw his charge reduced to aggravated battery, for which he was convicted; he now faces up to 22 years in prison. The other four teens are still awaiting trial on attempted murder and conspiracy charges.

The American Civil Liberties Union and Black leaders from around the country, including the Rev. Al Sharpton, have said that the charges are excessive. They point to the circumstances that prompted the fight and the fact that the injured youth, 18-year-old Justin Baker, was well enough after the fisticuffs to attend a school dance later the same day.

Knoxville, Tennessee -- Vanguard News Network's Alex Linder was conviced yesterday of resisting arrest and sentenced to six months suspended provided he remains of good behavior during that period.
Charges of disorderly conduct and property destruction were dropped against Linder in exchange for his payment of a $250 fine and court costs.

Linder had been arrested after confronting police before a rally he had planned against black crime in protest of the rape-murder of Channon Christian and Chris Newsome in a Knoxville neighborhood.

The arrest had been costly for Linder, who had to post a $4500 bond and hire counsel to defend himself against the accusations.

The raid is the result of a 2-year investigation of Koch Foods in which U.S. agents claim there was a "pattern and practice" to hire undocumented workers.
